    Immediately following the events of the previous episode, "Surprise", the Scooby Gang is in a near panic when neither Buffy nor Angel turns up the day after going looking for The Judge.

    Meanwhile, Buffy and Angel have slept together for the first time, which breaks the curse on Angel, removing his soul. He's soon up to his old tricks with his old friends Spike and Drusilla, first of which involves breaking Buffy's heart.

    Willow is crushed when she catches Xander making out with Cordelia in the library stacks.

    Jenny Calendar finally reveals her mission to Buffy and Giles.

    Xander comes up with a plan to defeat The Judge.
