Seriously....they killed Bucky? I'm just.... so freaking irritated. I've made my feelings known on this numerous times before. I think Marvel's doing a sh!tty thing by pandering to the people who are going to see the movie and replacing Bucky with Steve as Cap. It pisses me off. Bucky may not have been the true blue that Steve was, but he made a damn good Captain America. He was conflicted and it was a pleasure watching him grow and adjust and overcome his past. Bucky had his spot, Steve had his. But of course, this is Marvel, so why would they actually want to make the fans happy instead of pandering to people who are going to be seeing the movie? That doesn't make any sense, right? /sarcasm

So that was the majority of my complaint with them removing Bucky from his position as Captain America...but I was going to get over it. I was going to be a little bitter about it for a while, but the fact that I love Brubaker and adore McNiven (especially when they're writing Captain America) was soothing the pain. The only way I wasn't going to eventually be okay with this choice was if they killed Bucky to do it...which they seemingly have.

I'm sure eventually I'll come around, but for now I'm just incredibly disappointed. Not only has Marvel removed Bucky from his position of Captain America in order to A. renumber the series and B. pander to movie audiences, but they've actually killed him. That just doesn't sit well with me at all.

I dropped all my Captain America books today. And I added DC revamp books to my pull list to replace them. RIP Bucky. Your death will serve as nothing more than a void to be filled by Capullo-drawn Batman and Red Hood.

This is just irritating.  So they wanted Steve as Cap again, okay fine but why did they have to kill him?  Deaths in comics no longer have any impact, so it's not like they killed him for the sake of a good story.  All they did was waste a good character.  They should have just made him Winter Soldier again, or something along those lines.
 
Not to mention that they ditched Steve's new costume.  I liked that one much more, plus everyone knows who he is now so the mask is pointless....but I digress.

I don't think he's gone forever. His death was handled much too haphazardly, it didn't even feel real. It was much too surreal for me to feel like he's gone forever. 
  
That and I feel like Marvel invested much too much time in Bucky to just throw him away the way they did. And Steve wasn't mourning Bucky in Captain America #1...I feel like there would have at least been a mention.

And he isn't. I'm calling it now. Why is everyone mourning Bucky and not celebrating the death of Red Hulk, though? I mean...everyone hated him.

I didn't even know he was dead. That's how much I don't give a flying whoop about Red Hulk. Stupidest character gimmick ever.

With these huge mystical catastrophic events involving gods you can't really count anyone dead. Half a dozen other characters might die and be brought back at the end. His death was really quick with no real drama to it. Sin just ripped his arm off and rammed the handle of her hammer into his chest and he died without even putting up much of a fight.

This is sad. Bucky better personified Captain America for the new age, had a sleeker costume and above all else he had human qualities unlike Steve. Steve just feels devoid of character to me.

Haven't read the issue yet but the image looks pretty badass. And the dialog is fitting. I like it.

Im as pissed as the next man concerning Bucky's death. Although I still think its all part of some masterplan Marvel is working on. I believe theres a red herring. Heres what I think
1) Why supposedly rename Captain America's current book to "Captain America & Bucky" after issue 621 isn'it? Would the book focus on past adventures of those 2 or is it set in the present, the here and now?
2) In the forthcoming issues of Fear Itself we get to see "The Mighty". I still feel he could be a member of that  group in addition to the obvious candidates.
3) Still reckon what happened in Fear Itself #3 was a way for Bucky to perhaps fake his death as Captain America. This is so that Steve gets reinstated back as Cap. Also the Russian authorities cease with going after Bucky, he goes underground in the meanwhile, perhaps working with Nick Fury/SHIELD or Steve himself if hes still in charge, or who ever would be in charge in the future.

They could've at least given him a cleaner death instead of having his arm torn off and getting a gaping hole blown in his chest. I damn you Marvel to the lowest pits of Hela's Dimension to rot until I can over my anger.
