A Boy, King, and a Ticking Bomb 0

Summary:   As Jackson father knows about his son secret revealing it's self, Jackson is taken to the spot where his life began. However, the trip down memory lane doesn't come that easy. Meanwhile, Jason and Ronald find out the secrets of the universe, but they are the ones to end it.  The Good:   Originally Firestorm was a character that I could give a rats-ass about, but this issue had flipped that perception upside down.  In the begging we clearly see that two heads are not better than one. Never Thought I Would Say Aqualad Is Interesting 0

This time Brightest Day narrows in on the ongoing stories of Aquaman and and the Firestorm duo in an overall good issue, but one story definitely stands above the other.  Aqualad steps into the spotlight as both Black Manta and Aquaman close in on him. This is more a partial origin story for Aqualad than anything else. As the cover implies, he gets more page time than any other character. It isn't a bad thing. More and more, the new Aqualad seems like a great addition to the DCU and honestly far...

Way to Go Aquaman. You Dragged This Issue Down. 0

The Good: Firestorm. I never cared much for firestorm, but I've felt that way about most every character in this series (Except for Martion Manhunter, ALWAYS loved Martian Manhunter) but this issue really made him stand out. I love the secret origin to his powers and the devastating consequences that it leaves looming on the horizon. I especially love that fact that even when they argue the chance is extremely minimal, but at the same time, treated with the same seriousness as any threat. The wh...

    They Stole The Show! 0

As of late, Brightest Day has dramatically increased in quality in terms of its stories since Issue #7. With its increased exposure on formerly forgotten characters over the easier route of relying on Green Lantern to tell solid stories, Geoff Johns and Peter J. Tomasi continue crafting an epic that may very well showcase the future landscape of the DCU, as the issue's title is hinting. So, grab your mementos, bond with your chemically intelligent buddy, and join me as I review Brightest Day #10...

    The Brightest Day theory. 0

Story: Fire Storm is experimenting with a professor. We learn that their emotions control the safety of our planet. One argument between Jason and Ronnie it could blow up the earth. So they need to keep their emotions stable. Mera is telling Aquaman that the new Aqualad is Black Manta's son. Aquaman tells Mera that he'll find him by himself and that he needs alone time. Jackson's dad is driving him away from the house and takes him to this cabin they own that Jackson didn't know about. Jackson's...

Did David Finch get a script for this issue? 0

Just to acknowledge the title, there isn't even a reference to anything going on, on the cover so don't worry your pretty little heads.  The story follows the Firestorm part of the arc, the Aquaman/Mera, and Aqualad parts of the arc as well.  While the Firestorm arc is a little boring, this is obviously a bridge issue.  The next one looks awesome.  The part with Aqualad is great and I can't wait to see what happens there either.  Hopefully they won't totally ignore this issue in issue #11.  But ...

Almost killing your son isn't a good thing Black Manta. 0

10th issue of Brightest Day.  The Story:We start the issue with Dr.Stein is doing tests with Firestorm (Jason and Ronnie) and see's that Firestorm can't transform things depending on the knowledge of the users and that Firestorm is also changing into a final form and is becoming the biggest threat in the universe. Then Aquaman and Mera swimming towards Jackson and Aquaman tells Mera that he needs to think about everything thats been happening lately. Then we see Jackson is being taken by his fathe...
