Jaime Reyes is the new Blue Beetle in this title collecting issues #1-6 of the DC COMICS - THE NEW 52 series!

    IT'S NOT EASY BEING BLUE

Jaime Reyes has all the burdens of a typical teenager. He worries about school, girls, his popularity, and the sentient alien technology that has loaded itself in his spine and may want to take over Earth. Y'know, your average high-school issues.

Since accidentally becoming host to this big blue alien bug, Jaime can turn into an armored, flying space soldier. But these new abilities are not always in his control. The scarab isn't just a suit of armor --- it's alive. The alien consciousness is always there, giving him instructions. If Jaime doesn't follow its orders, the scarab can simply take control of his suit and force to comply.

The scarab will use its host to attack anyone who threatens its mission, including Jaime's friends and family. Can Jaime learn to control his "bugsuit" before he puts everyone in his life at rick?

TONY BERARD (GREEN LANTERN CORPS) and IG GUARA (TEEN TITANS) revamp the Blue Beetle in stunning fashion in BLUE BEETLE: METAMORPHOSIS (collecting issues #1-6).

Blue Beetle is definitely not the most popular of the DC super heroes, but he has been known to have a number of series in the past. So, it's understandable that the New 52 was graced with his presence, as you can only make so many series about the members of the JLA. However, this one ends up feeling more like an empty shell of a story, as there is little substance or content to delve into. We're introduced to Jamie, our protagonist, who is more or less the equivalent to a Mexican Peter Parker ...

The Story:I have never read an issue of Blue Beetle in my life so I decided to check this out. Jaime Reyes is your average Mexican-American teenager growing up in El Paso, Texas. He has problems with girls, bullies, annoying parents and all of the usual teenager drama. His problems only get worse when he accidentally stumbles across the Blue Beetle Scarab and it complicates his life in ways he never thought possible.Instead of simple teenage issues & angst, he now finds himself dealing with ...
