I think we pretty much all saw this coming.  Last summer at Comic-Con, someone asked Geoff Johns about this character becoming a Black Lantern and he simply didn't answer the question.

I can't wait to see if the Black Lanterns are just mindless zombies or if they retain their personalities....i think it would be better if they retained their personalities as it would be more of a psychological problem for the heroes they're fighting

I'd think they'd have some of their personality but not all of it.  Otherwise they'd try to remain heroes.  There definitely should be some inner struggling going to carry the story further."

I hope they aren't zombies. Zombies are so plaaaaaayed out.

actually i dont know if anyone has every played star wars battlefront but when you play as a jedi the only way you get to stay is by killing i am hoping its kind of the same way with the blackiest night to power their rings they need to kill and agreed lets hope they keep their personalities

This is going to be good. The blackest night is something that the Green Lantern saga has been in need of for a while.

Bout time they broth this bastard back, but the obvious question is still lingering, is batman coming back as a black lantern?

And also, if batman comes back, will the zombie lanterns form their own justice league, ALSO will they invite Black Flash barry as an honorary member?

I tried to get out of Lantern but this looks like it will pull me back in.
