For one Batman has had since the late 1930's to get where he is. Also Batman is a character that is pushed very hard by Dc, because he is one of their icons. Although the Black Panther was one of the first black super heroes if not the first, he's not pushed (solicited) as hard at Marvel. The character has had his own titles and mini-series over the years perhaps more than you may know. Marvel has made strides with BP though, he has made appearances in cartoons, and possibly has a up and coming movie in the future. You also have to realize that black characters in comics aren't accepted by the general populace as easy ,as say, a white character like Superman! Times have gotten better for black characters in comics, as far as in the cinemaverse, it remains to be seen!

I'm going to assume because of the lack of interest the target audiencehas on BP, no?

Now would be the perfect time, imo. With his appearance on A:EMH and possibly a movie on the way, I would love to get another Panther solo series.
