I am positive that I read that Jefferson Pierce (they refered to him by name not as Black Lightning) will be showing up in the DCnU soon. I thought that I read it in one of the transcripts from a DC panel at WonderCon, but I cannot find it now.

Does anybody else remember seeing this comment?

    Can anyone provide a link?

I remember seeing this as well! It was in several different locations, including the live feeds provided by Newsarama. If I can find it, I'll link up.

CBR: Meet the Publishers Coverage: DiDio then told a fan who called out from the back row there will be a place for character Jefferson Pierce in the DCU “fairly soon!”

    Edit: Darn so close. :-)

I'll be happy to see him on the League... But then again, a revamped Black Lightning on the Outlaws would be badass, imo

DC is cancelling both Static Shock and Mr Terrific, so I hope that they give him a solo ongoing series.

UUUUGGGGHHHHHH I HATE BATMAN, INC. I wouldn't mind him being in the outsiders at all though, I liked them. But preferably led by Dick, not Bruce. Bruce doesn't need to be in another title.

@ArturoCalaKayVee: Agreed. Dick in charge of the Outsiders would be great, but DC already has so many team books that I wonder if it could happen.

@jsphsmth: Pre-N52 DC had so many books floating around, I'm sure they'll eventually lose their organized 52 book stage and throw in more books. And if they don't then I'm sure one or more team books will be cancelled. I'm going to guess one of the Legion books or JLI, possibly even Red Lanterns.

I could not agree more with this sentiment!! This news has made my week!! I'm hoping for a solo with a big name team on everything. We don't need more bad writing like with Static and Mr. Terrific. Batwing proves that even someone who's completely new has a chance, so why not Black Lightning? If he doesn't have a solo, I hope that he's the leader of a team like the Outsiders where he can get a great chance to really shine and win more fans. Keep him away from Earth-2, and give him an advertising push--and we've struck gold!

ALSO, it sounds like Jeff will be part of the magic community that seems to be gaining prominence in the DCnU. I'm inferring that from the article on CBR. Makes sense given that he's been shown to project multi-colored lightning--even Black colored.

I'm excited. Hopefully from that five-parter, we'll see a Black Lightning/Blue Devil ongoing comic. BL is one of my favorite heroes. Thanks Tony Isabella, and Marc Andreyko.

I know that your post is three months old, but I just wanted to add to your Batwing statement. Despite having what I consider the best origin of the new 52, the only reason that Batwing is successful right now is because there are so many team-ups within his book. He doesn't need Batman or Nightwing to help him out, yet DC has pushed those characters on us because they fell that if they don't, readership will plummet. Sadly, the way the industry is, they are right.

Also, I agree. Get him away from Earth-2. I want him alongside the biggest of the big names like Superman, and not Alan Scott and Jay Garrick. And I wish he was the leaders of an outsiders, or got his own ongoing as well.

Not sure how I feel about him being younger than the pre-Flashpoint version. It will eliminate the running joke of "Are you Static's father?"
