    Black Adam

Character » Black Adam appears in 853 issues.

The original champion of the Wizard, Teth-Adam was a former slave who channeled the power of six Egyptian Gods to fight evil. But when his family was murdered during the conquest of his people, he developed more ruthless methods to protect innocents. Seeing him as corrupt, the Wizard banished "Black Adam" to the tomb of Ramesses II. After centuries of imprisonment, he would finally escape to overthrow Kahndaq's tyrant by force, becoming the country's defender and a natural enemy to the world's heroes.

Is Black Adam a Muslim ?

I was doing some reserch on BA and it said "Kahndaqi population are relatively liberal Sunni Muslims who are willing to view Black Adam as a prophet along the lines of Mohammed." So it got me thinking BA might be Muslim ?

As far as I'm concerned, not even close.
I think it's also been suggested that Kahndaqi citizens worship, or at least believe in, Egyptian gods.

At that time there were no muslims, muslim religion only came up in around 600 A.D. Black Adam lived at around 2000 BCE. He believed in Amun-Re and Horus.

    Afor the power of Aten
    Mfor the courage of Mehen

He literally gets his powers from Egyptian gods. For him to be Muslim would be very friggin stupid.

Interesting. Here are some sources that say otherwise.

The Wikipedia source says that Black Adam was born Teth-Adam on September 11, 1279 BC. Meaning that this is way before Islam which is a 7th Century AD Religion.
