Let's list the flaws in his Batman/Bruce Wayne.

I'll list one - He could barely move.

Since when has Batman been a talker? And dude fought a swordsman weilding two Katana with only his gloves. He beat down all of Jokers henchman and didn't even touch his belt except when he needed to climb buildings ect.

He should have said a bit more at-least. He was so quiet. That fight sequence really sucked, honestly. He looked really stiff and slow.

Nothing worth nitpicking about. I love his Batman to this day & I'd rank it higher than Bale's Batman.

I wouldn't put him anywhere near Bale's Batman. Bale's could fight, was intimidating and was in great shape.

Micheal Keaton was a better Bruce Wayne. His demeanor and his look matched how I would picture Bruce if he was a real person. As Batman he's better at pulling off the intimidation factor than Bale, as far as acting he was just better. If we are talking about action scenes, remember we are comparing an 80's action film to a modern action film. These days, just about anyone can me made to look convincing in combat (not that Keaton wasn't).

Sorry, but there aren't really any major flaws with the character... or the actor... it's a matter of tone... and I would expect nothing less from Tim Burton than something dark and gritty

Keaton didn't need to say anything... his actions and demeanor spoke for themselves... and he ok he did kill, but it was only twice (that I'm aware of) though there's some room for debate there.

The cinematography was great, the music was pretty good (more Danny Elfman's theme than any of Prince's songs), the only "real" flaw was that Knox didn't really have a place in the movie, he was just there to move the plot along and for some comic relief, but that's a personal thing... it actually adds more to the movie than it takes away from it

Michael Keaton's Batman was good but I didn't like it that much.None of the old Batman actors were good and I didn't like any of them but Michael Keaton was the best of them. But I can't hate him.

@comicdude23: Most of your arguments are relating to the costume not Keaton's portrayal of batman/wayne. The fact that he couldn't fight/move had to do with the costume design. To me he's been the better incarnation. Bale is good, but his voice just kills everything else.

If you're just recently watching the Batman movies, I can see why you would like the newer ones better. Keaton was real popular back then, but it's an old movie. Technology has advanced in the movies since then too.People of all ages love batman, so if youre 15 years old you're opinions are gonna be way different than a 30, 40, 50 year old's. What was cool back then isn't cool to the newer generation.

Flaws? I don't remember any flaws with Keaton's portrayal of Batman. Bale's a great actor but he's no Michael Keaton when it comes to Batman. If I ran into Keaton's Batman on the street, I'd be scared but If I ran into Bale's Batman I'd probably start laughing. Tim Burton's first Batman film is a masterpiece and easily one of the top ten films of the 1980's.

I guess you can say Bale's version of Batman could fight if fighting like a drunk at a bar counts as being able to fight. Otherwise i'm giving the notch to Keaton in the fighting dept. Not that Keaton was overly impressive himself but he gets the nod due to how very unimpressive Bale's fighting ability was in all 3 movies. But to be fair to Bale, I don't blame him, it's just not in Nolan to give a good fight scene.

Also Keaton was more believable as Bruce Wayne, he didn't sound like he needed a cough drop everytime he talked & I personally the Keaton's batsuit. It just looks more like the classic batman.

I think the general point is that there's a difference between a bad movie and a movie that you don't like... if you just don't like it and have a reason, then it's fine, because it's subjective, so it can't be argued with... but if it's being called a bad movie, which in my opinion it isn't, then that's a different story altogether.

I did not have a problem with Keaton, In fact I liked him a bit more than Bale in terms of the better Batman. Bale is a better Bruce Wayne, though.

Keaton played a better Bruce Wayne and his Batman was more in line with comics imo (barring the killing). For me Bale didn't step up his role as either until the third movie. As far as movies go they are totally different. Its like comparing TDKR to the Avengers.

He was atrocious.

-Could barely move, fight scenes were abysmal

-Not grim at all. Nothing like Batman, not brooding, nothing.

-Expressed intellect as nerdiness. I mean really, glasses?

-Just... not impressive in any way.

-Was a terrible playboy

-Doesn't look like any incarnation of Batman.

He's my least favorite, except for, perhaps, Clooney.

Again, "think" versus "is". I didn't watch any single Batman film and go "Yes. That is Bruce Wayne done perfect", but to me, Keaton and the Tim Burton films were lame. My inner hipster tells me to say they're masterpieces in noir, but nahh B, I refuse. I honestly don't think Keaton was anything special. At least Bale got his Bat-brood on.
