That's why every Joker remembers their past differently? I bet one of them is Alfred Stryker, another is Julie Madison's Brother and the last one is Jack from the Killing Joke.

This just makes no sense at all! If it not new for characters to have alternate reality versions of themselves. I don't understand why this is such a big thing for the Joker. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, etc. all have alternate versions of themselves. Why is this so special for the Joker? Any help in understanding this is greatly appreciated!

This is a terrible concept, it completely destroys the idea that the Joker remakes his personality every time he wakes up.

Oh really OP? by Johns logic there should also be 3 Ivys', 3 Catwomen, ,3 Scarecrows', 3 Bruces' etc because they all have a pre-crisis, post crisis and post Flashpoint version.

It's Johns way of explaining the discrepancies in Joker's characterization even though Morrison already provided a vastly superior explanation. As usual Johns doesn't have an original idea in his body and just makes money off the work of other people.

This sounds like something he didn't know had actually already been explained and when someone pointed it out to him he'd be like "oh huh.... *mutters* that is pretty cool actually..... "

What do these Jokers do? Coordinate with one another? Is there a council of Jokers where they plan out how to screw with Batman? It's just so stupid.

“Sometimes I remember it one way, sometimes another… If I’m going to have a past, I prefer it to be multiple choice!”

~ Joker, Batman: The Killing Joke, 1988.

Almost from the very start of the Batman comics there were two Jokers !!! Third appear years latter !!!

    Huge Spoiler !!!

Adolf Stryker - ''First'' and Original Joker... and best known as Joker of The Killing Joke ! He lose his memory in the process of his own creation !!! Later in The Killing Joke, he tell/reveal origin story of the second Joker for which creation is he responsible !!! They know each other and work together from time to time, even they don't like each other at all !!! When second Joker took the bullet to face... he back and replace him... but not forever !!!

Red Hood ''Jack'' - Second Joker...best known as Joker of A Death in the Family ! Red Hood gang who don't fall ''acidentally'' in the same chemical as Stryker !!! Those chemical in which Red Hood fall was create by first Joker (Stryker), which he make to find cure for self !!! Years latter he took the bullet to the head but survive with deformed face !!! When that happened First Joker(Stryker) again step on the scene !!! Second Joker stay back in the shadows, restoring his face. When his face regenerate he back to role of the Joker. But that don't was only trouble with his face. Decades latter one another villain cut his face off... Dollmaker.

Curtis Base - Third Joker... and best known as Joker of Death of the Family ! Corrupt businessman who learn everything about Joker (Second one)... who he was, how he come to be... man who turn to a life of crime and try to replace believed dead Joker !!! Later when ''original'' Joker back, they two have a fight for the name of Joker. In that battle Curtis jump to vat full of acid, to replicate the accident that created the Joker. But things don't go well and chemicals melt his skin alltogether with his face... but somehow he success to survive it. In the next years he hire one scientist to make identical chemicals, to chemicals response for creation of the Original Joker. He want jump into it, to gain Joker regenaration and his form. Experiments dont go very good and he lose almost all of his wealth. Years latter when Dollmaker cut Second Joker face, he stole the face from the GCPD. With Joker's DNA from the face, scientist start creating serum which will give Joker abilities to Curtis. Until scientist work on the serum, Curtis seize the moment of faceless Joker to back on his role !!! Curtis gonna prove that is he way better Joker than his rival, and use his cutted face as mask and attack all Batman family members !!! Later in the finall battle with Batman Curtis fall from the waterfall and lose the Face. U will recognize him as thinner than the other Jokers !!!

All three of them dont have same temperament and level of moral... one is homicidal maniac, second is more ruthless killer, until third is sth like gimmick-happy super-thief... One of them again have more emotions than other two, and another one have more likes for a Harley Quinn, until two others are sick of her, and know to punch her if she start to be anoying !!!

I wonder if they're trying to follow the example set by Gotham? where you have the proto? Joker Jerome, whose death (?) inspires countless faceless people to go crazy? perhaps they will reveal there was an original Joker who inspired copycats?

I think that Geoff Johns will have an explanation like the were some cracks in reality. And the Joker from the Golden Age survived, same for the Pre-Flashpoint one (that being the Killing Joke one) and the New52/Snyder Capullo Joker.. That would make perfect sense..

All it is at the moment is a plot point to have these questions raised. Surely there won't be there Jokers running around for long. By the way why are two of them caught so easily by police anyway??

I have a hard time buying that Batman has been fighting three different Jokers and not relive it. Especially considering how often he goes over evidence from said encounters looking for clues to the Jokers identity.

During flashpoint when the flash was trying to fix the time line he discovers that there r now three timelines but Pandora combines combines them to make them more powerful to face the coming threat but at a cost. Could that cost be the orginal pre 52 being left behind or not merged with the other timelines which left the new 52 without a superman which might explain mr oz saying that I taught u that. perhaps mr oz created the new 52 superman or stole him from another timeline or alternate universe which would explain how there r or were two supermen pre and new 52 even during the convergence there no pre 52 heroes heroes but superman. http://i0.wp.com/www.gamerfocus.co/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/comicreboots_05.jpg

harlequin original mean a demon or a goblin. so my theory is that there is a powerful god-like being seal away in Gotham name Killroy. When people suffer near death event they can come into contact with the seal and become possess by Killroy. All those possess become link like a hive mind and they their body can switch personality.
