Batman
Character » Batman appears in 23635 issues.
Bruce Wayne, who witnessed the murder of his billionaire parents as a child, swore to avenge their deaths. He trained extensively to achieve mental and physical perfection, mastering martial arts, detective skills, and criminal psychology. Costumed as a bat to prey on the fears of criminals, and utilizing a high-tech arsenal, he became the legendary Batman.
How fast can Batman run in MPH?
I wouldn't think he would be Olympian speed, because he has armor under his costume. I mean he's peak human, but also he's weighed down. So if he were running the 100 M in costume, he'd probably come in last. But if he weren't in costume, he'd come in after Usain Bolt somewhere around 3rd or 4th. If that answers you question.

"MPH-estimate
" @jumpstart55: Usain Bolt's fastest Mph was 23.187 doing the 200. The average person is somewhere around 12-15 mph. I think Batman is probably between 20-22. "That sounds about right.
Nightwing is probably the fastest man in the world and Batman is better than the finest human athletes.
Actually Usain's fastest speed was 27.79 mph doing the 100 meter dash- I myself have sprinted alongside a car as it started up and drove off, matching it until @ 25 mph then it pulled away. It was a short sprint (maybe 40-50 feet) I was young and light and fast then, but that car was peeling out and folks was impressed.. what can I say?
I think it has as much to do with how far a sprint and how urgent the need - every sprint isn't going to be the same and the human body isn't meant to run like that for very long, compound that with the added weight of his gear and I am thinking he's lucky if he's sprinting 20 mph on his best day
@mynamewasdeleted: That was posted TWO years ago!
Usain Bolt? lol, are you comparing a guy that can move fast enough to dodge a bullet, to usain bolt? also, int the New 52 Tim Drake was stated as being olympic level...i'm pretty sure that Bruce is faster, not more agile, as he's bigger, but overall faster.
Batman can run faster than light. He stomped the flash in the bat race with his bat legs using the bat force......
Slower than Cap :P
I don't think one can really compare comic-book characters to real-life figures like Usain Bolt. I mean we're talking about heroes who regularly dodge supersonic bullets on a daily basis, yet somehow combine all the physical features of the world's best weightlifters, martial artists, gymnasts, and sprinters. Unless you have an unobtanium excuse like the Super-Soldier Serum, the comparison isn't even equitable (and even then it's iffy by real-world standards).
Anyway, the true answer is that Batman can run as fast as the story requires him to.
according to @mynamewasdeleted usain bolts fastest is roughly 28mph. batman could probably run faster considering the fact that he is at peak physical condtion. this is batman with his suit. so that means he is running faster than usain bolt with so much weight AND a massive cape dragging him. ( a cape massive enough to let someone that weighs over 210 pounds glide!!) take his suit and everything off, and my guess is that he would sprint/run at well over 36-37mpn.
As @Veshark said, we can't compare a fictional human that functions under fictional rules to real-world situations. However, since Batman has always dwarfed real-life human abilities and the theoretical running speed for a human in real life is 40 MPH, I can say Batman probably hits 50 MPH and 60 MPH if he's pushing it. Of course, it may be more than even that.
@ackrecky7: Yeah, but what about just running? So, not a sprint distance.
@ackrecky7: lmao that's like 49 km per hour
Faster than Usain Bolt. He can lift more than the strongest real life humans so he should be faster than the fastest real life human too
@ackrecky7: lol true.
Based on his feats I would say 48-52 mph.
A potential run of 100 metres in 4.4 seconds?!
@thegodamnbatman: Hell no ! He has no on panel feat of running anywhere near that fast. Even when he chased a car, he only kept up with it when it just started, which is something even real life human can do
On topic : around 30 MPH should be right
Based on his feats I would say 48-52 mph.

This guy can dodge bullets and catch up to speeding cars, it's not that much of a stretch.

Dodging bullets is different though.
Would like to see the images of him catching up to speeding cars.

I suppose your right, dodging bullets is more a feat of reaction rather than raw speed. I'll see if I can find the images.
25mph is reasonably enough, any faster would be absurd.
This is right. Batman doesn't even have the feats to show he can run 100m in 10 seconds flat but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt because he's Batman and I love it. I'm not however willing to give him sub-9:70 over a hundred. That is a dream until such a feat is shown. In high level athletics the difference between 10:00 and 9:80 is colossal.
Faster than Usain Bolt. He can lift more than the strongest real life humans so he should be faster than the fastest real life human too
By this logic, Brian Shaw, Eddie Hall and Hafthor Bjornsson would complete 100 meters within 10 seconds....and we know for fact those guys cannot run sub-12 to save their lives. Batman has proven his power lifting and reflexes. Sprint speed is another thing altogether. He's very fast, olympian level maybe, but not that fast.

Well I couldn't find any scans, I guess I was mistaken.

In that case...........I want $300 by the end of this night. I gotta pay da billz man.
It's scientifically prove that the speed is due to the strength of legs, so more stronger you are more fast you can be, but in the real world you can't see it because a really strong guy must be heavy in his body mass and more heavy you are more slow you are.
