or just because hes a douch
this
They dislike him because he gets more attention than John Stewart.
and kinda this too
@martyyy15: I don't know, I found it in the Green Arrow image gallery.
Hal Jordan is the boss!!
i love Hal and Batman. im not a fan of how geoff Johns portrayed him in the early JL issues but for the most part, i love the guy. he only time he's really seemed like a douche to me is in New 52 GL and a few pre flashpoint things.
Yeah, he's a douchebag.
you see douchery, i see Karma for Olle's behavior toHal for the vast majority of their association
They dislike him because he gets more attention than John Stewart.
this is undoubtedly the biggest reason people dislike Hal. he gets more attention than the other Lanterns
@avenging_x_bolt: geting more attention is my reason for hating the douch bag i just made this thread because of the other one
@martyyy15: It's from Justice League 8
@avenging_x_bolt: geting more attention is my reason for hating the douch bag i just made this thread because of the other one
yeah, thats pretty obvious
Ohh ok. I picked up JL starting with the Cheetah arc. Wasn't impressed with characterization during darksied arc at all. Honestly only one who was in character there was flash and slightly wonderwoman
And what is with the art in that issue?
Hal is a douche. Nothing really complex about it. Just a douche.
i'd disagree (not saying this version isnt a douche but id say he has his reasons)
there is another reason i dont like him........ HE IS THE BIGGEST (besides ironman) ASSH*** in comics
there is another reason i dont like him........ HE IS THE BIGGEST (besides ironman) ASSH*** in comics
what makes you feel that way
@avenging_x_bolt: i dont know doc............ mabey its because hes exactly like ironman from what i can tell he acts high and mighty from people he should be think of it like this
:stark act like a douch towards banner even thoe the hulk has gotten them out of sitwation numorius time before
:hal acts like a douch towards batman even thoe batman has gotten them out of sitwations numerios times before
you see were im coming from? if you dont your as dumb as a nail or i am concidering my bad spelling...
@night_thrasher: indeed kyle is still my faveorite

what situations has Batman gotten Hal out of? Is this something that happened in the new 52 JL? because i honestly cant think of a situation. maybe one or two before flashpoint (Sinestro Corps War and Wanted:Hal Jordan) and he and Bruce were fine with each other.
you see were im coming from?
if you dont your as dumb as a nail or i am concidering my bad spelling...
ahhh, yes insults. always the way to get someone to respect your argument

Hal is the best!
Rebirth probably proves that point most for me :)
Rebirth has done more damage to Hal Jordan's character than anything else. Gary Stu himself says Hal was boring in Rebirth.
@tdk_1997: I can't think of a bigger fanboy for a single character than Johns for Hal.
Not gonna lie, he is a douche but he's not at like, Namor levels, so I still love him.
Plus him and Barry? comedic gold
I don't hate Hal. I always thought Hal and Bruce punching one another was a little silly...but whatever, I can live with it. I'm pretty ambivalent to the character.
Overall though, I much prefer the more mature yet still cocky Hal that we got post-Spectre in the pre-52 universe. It's like after all of his struggles and wars, he's a bit more level-headed now, but he still has that confidence.
New-52 Hal in JL has been a serious douche though. Save for that last part where he leaves the JL and shows some level of depth, most of it kinda has him coming across as comedic fodder and not very likeable.

I don't really care if Stu said Hal was boring in it. Both of you are entitled to be bored by whatever you want :)
However, I can't possibly see how Rebirth did anything bad to Hal's reputation.
Breaking free from Parallax's grip; punching Batman; teaming up with Guy, John and Kyle for the first time; defeating Parallax when it took host of Ganthet; that scene when Parallax demands Hal to fall, and Hal says "I don't know how"; not to mention it being a pre-cursor to all of Geoff Johns' 9-year-work on Green Lantern...all of these things have so much awesome that it can barely be contained in the pages of the comics.
Come to think of it, you saying that Rebirth was damaging to Hal makes you sound bitter for some reason that Hal is a popular character...that or you're confusing Rebirth for something else...or just trolling.
@sinestro_gl: Not trolling, I'm just a DC fan.
Look at what Johns did in Rebirth. Johns took Hal Jordan from a flawed character who suffered a more than fair enough nervous breakdown, suffered for it, accepted it, and tried to atone and made him into a pure victim and then a self-righteous, arrogant jerkwad at that. Whether or not Parallax was controlling him 100% (it wasn't, especially since it was a ham-fisted, idiotic retcon), Hal Jordan almost committed cosmic genocide, but hey, it wasn't my fault, I'm going to be a d*ck and you should all bow down before me. The "I don't know how" line is a disgrace. Hal failed. Parallax took him over. It was a turning point for the character. Instead of that ridiculously stupid line, he should have said "Not again" or something like that. But nah, never acknowledge faults when you're a Johns favourite, because you were never ever the problem. It was the yellow insect thing.
And for the record, Johns' Green Lantern was total crap. Of course it's adored by people who've never read a GL comic before, or who are just dumb as sh*t, but it doesn't change the fact it consists largely of; HAL RULES. RETCON. EVERY COLOUR HAS A LANTERN. RETCON. ZOMBIES. RETCON. And drag that on for 10 years.

Ht the nail on the head. i couldn't even bare to keep up with JL after the first issue. I would like to see a decent writer take on stories with them in it. Someone who handle comedy and action we the J.M Dematteis.

Fade isnt trolling. He has a point. from a creative standpoint, Johns removed a kit of depth from the character and nullified a great deal of epic/touching moments. He's also right about the Don Know How line
Thing is even if I hated Hal it would still be an accomplishment,I just dont care he's bleh and IMO that worse than outright hatred.

I still don't see how Rebirth was bad for Hal...what you've described, if anything, is why Rebirth was bad writing, in your opinion.
And for the record, Johns' Green Lantern was total crap. Firstly, if you didn't personally like Johns' Green Lantern, that doesn't give you the right to insult people who don't think the same as you. Self-righteousness and arrogance should be used to describe your post instead of Hal Jordan (as you did). I'm now sure that you are bitter that Rebirth put the spotlight back on Hal rather than the other lanterns.
