More trouble for the DCEU, Affleck's latest feature film Live by Night has a 35% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The 2 main critiques from the guys that have reviewed it are:

It's rushed

Affleck's crime formula has overstayed its welcome.

Not looking good for Batman TBH and Eiza Gonzalez is being heavily rumored to play Catwoman. She started following Johns months ago and now is following Robbie and Ayer. She's a mediocre actress who's 20 years younger than Affleck, if true this is a disaster.

Dammit! Why just why?! The Batman is/was absolutely my most anticipated movie for 2018. Heck, I'm most looking looking forward for that movie, since other DCEU movies won't be better. I really, really hope you're wrong man :/. I haven't see live by night (yet). However, I have seen The Accountant. Frankly, I wasn't blown away by the movie nor was it a tedious movie. It was simply OK. Have you seen The Accountant?

Well, that's just his first ever directed failure then. Even great directors like Scorsese, Tarantino, Eastwood etc made at least two to three bad movies.

Well yes. Critics do look harsh on a film before we get to watch it ourselves and understand why it got all the hate. .

Meh, it's one bad movie. And I don't even know if it's bad or not. Some people who have valued opinions for some reason said it was bad.

Someone that hasn't watched any of the Affleck films, won't have a problem with him using the same formula. Now if it feels rush, that's a critique that really affects the movie. Ben seems to have taken too many projects while filming this movie, He should cool it down, being a director and screenwriter, while being like on three different movies, is hard.

That she is following anyone , doesn't really indicate anything (if they follow back then It could mean something), I remember when everybody was saying that Dan Amboyer was Hal Jordan, because he followed a bunch of important people and It turn out to be false. But there is also another interesting point to note, She is following Robbie and Ayer. Robbie and Ayer are doing Gotham Sirens, which would probably also star Catwoman, so she might be Catwoman for that movie (another Batman character ruined by Ayer but as long as it doesn't ruin the Batman movie, I am fine with it). Heck Ayer even posted this:

So It's really possible that It's just for the Gotham Sirens movie.

This movie is nothing like what a Batman movie would be, so thanks for the update, but it's not necessary to think that because this movie, which is unreleased, will be the deciding factor for how The Batman is directed.

When was Ben affleck last in a good film? Even the accountant was awful

Concerning Affleck's film, I mean, it's hardly good news but I wouldn't necessarily consider it a portent of what's to come for Batman.

Not sure about Gonzalez, it's possible she's playing somebody different in the DCEU, I recall reading that WB were looking to cast a Latina actress as Zatanna, but considering she specifically followed those people, yeah, doesn't look good. If she's Catwoman... Christ I don't even know what to say anymore.

Just because Ben's current movie fails, it doesn't mean The Batman movie will fail.

Yeah if batmans movie fails it won't be bens fault but WBs

Though batman films are easier to do and I feel that WB do better with street level characters whereas they have massive Michael bay type boner with high tiers and it just becomes destruction porn

Johns follows her and yes I was referring to Sirens but this is a shared universe, if she is cast then she's the Catwoman of this universe and I can unfortunately see both WB and fans pressurizing Affleck to use her as if he owes them a Catwoman appearance. Same thing has happened with Joker and Harley, I would rather none of the Ayer characters make it to a Batman film but that defeats the point of a shared universe.

Generally I am not a fan of Affleck, but I do think he did a good job as Batman, even though the character was not written well.

Too little too late, Gotham City sirens?, Hell Sony had a better chance of making a better Aunt May movie
