Batman #24 1

Villains Month delayed Zero Year, but that is all made up for in Batman #24. We get a double-sized edition, concluding the first chapter of Zero Year and introducing the second. Scott Snyder had hinted that this issue would see the Batman’s debut and reveal something of the mysterious link between the Red Hood Gang leader and the Joker. So how does this work out? Warning: this review may contain spoilers. The GoodI’ll be honest; I didn’t want the leader of the Red Hood Gang to become Joker. Not b...

Final Showdown with the Red Hood Gang 2

This review was originally posted on my website Imagination Centre (here). This has been a series that I've enjoying since it first started, and this Zero Year storyline has been simply amazing so far. I have enjoyed how it's managed to give an unique origin for the Dark Knight, also giving exciting and entertaining events along the way.PlotAfter Bruce Wayne reveals himself to still be alive, Batman faces off against the Red Hood Gang once again.ReviewThis was an amazing issue, and quite possibly...

more. Longer take:Year One is superior, and clearly is the template from which Snyder is working. I think he's been given an impossible task (though one can argue he didn't need to accept it) in navigating the treacherous waters of remaining respectful of Miller's origin and translating it to the reality of the New 52 rebooted DCU. He's obviously charting a middle-course which leaves the story imperfect and, with some few new characters (as you noted, Uncle Phillip Kane, along with a visual nod...

I. Am. Batman! 0

Last issue, Bruce Wayne resolved to become something more than a man and strike fear into those that would harm innocent. Now, we all know what that means, but it is still very cool to see writer Scott Snyder's vision unfold. In this super-sized issue, we see the newly-cowled Batman take the fight to the Red Hood gang.Bruce finds the Red Hood gang has been knocking off chemical companies, working towards a greater dark plan for Gotham. This eventually leads him to confront the gang at Ace Ch...

I Am The Night 0

I've read a lot of comics this year(Superior Spider-Man,The Walking Dead,Justice League etc.) but nothing has been as extraordinary or amazing as Batman 24.The art was so spectacular, the script was so solid, and the little easter eggs and references were very surprising and rewarding. While this issue was the conclusion to the main Zero Year arc it also led into a new fantastic arc that I can't wait to read.SPOILERS Follow. The Good: This is only the beginning... One of the main reasons that made ...

Aerodynamic haircut, Batman references galore, and one last fight with the Red Hood Gang. 0

After the .1 "Forever Evil" issues plug, it's time to get back to the BATMAN story at hand; his ORIGIN! Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo are back with the conclusion to the Red Hood story arc! The GoodWe know who THAT IS!!!!Scott Snyder did a outstanding job with this final Red Hood issue! In this story arc, he's established Bruce/Batman as a young and arrogant hero that is slowly walking towards the path of the Batman we know today. This origin story isn't breaking any new ground, but Snyder witho...

Witness the debut of a legend 0

Bruce Wayne's debut as Batman is something I've read many many times, and the new new 521 story is definitely one of the best I've read. The colorful graphics may be misleading and deceptive. It kind of undermines the darkness of the tale created by Scott Snyder. Thumbs up to him for giving something this amazing so soon after Forever Evil....
