    Batgirl herself isn't off to a great start; Batgirl: Year One is 0

    Published, as it is, after The Killing Joke and Barbara's subsequent shift to an intelligence-gathering role, references to the mythical oracle Cassandra and to paralysis are slightly transparent. But this foreshadowing -- and some other details I won't spoil -- hint that Chuck Dixon and Scott Beatty are writing about Barbara Gordon -- not just the exploits of the first Batgirl.The issue jumps around achronologically between three different Barbaras: the unimposing Babs that the world underestim...

    Another Year One story! This one was made back in '03.We meet a persistent and determined Barbara Gordon trying to legally combat the criminal element, but everyone seems to underestimate her abilities, even her own father. (Ok, maybe not in his case. He probably cares for her safety and doesn't want her risking her life. He did say that "One cop in the family is enough.")
