Axel Alonso is one of few comic book editors there have ever been where his name being attached to a project can draw attention like unto the writer or artist of the book's names can. This is because Alonso has had a hand in directing some of the greatest comic visions of the past twenty years; starting over at DC Comics' Vertigo and moving over to Marvel Comics later. On January 4, 2011, he took over as Editor-in-Chief of Marvel Comics, following a long tenure by Joe Quesada.
Some of the more notable projects Alonso has helped guide, helped assemble the creative teams for or helped to see the light of day in general:
Preacher
X-Statix / X-Force v2
The whole X-men line of comics for the past few years
