So I've been looking at the Marvel Multiverse and various continuities in it and there's one thing I don't quite get...

If Wolverine and the X-Men and Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes take place in the same universe, then where does that leave the Avengers in the Marvel Animated Universe?
In EMH, we saw the backstories of the Avengers, as they started to assemble, yet if they take place in separate universes, then why don't we re-learn their pasts? (Like how CA is dealing with being in the future and why Hulk doesn't turn back into Banner) Was it originally supposed to be the same universe? Also, what happened to Hank Pym and Wasp in MAU? Were they even AROUND in MAU? Does that mean Scott Lang was the original Ant Man in that universe?

Either way, MAU (AKA Ultimate Spider-Man Animated Series) is kinda messy when it comes to details, like how Spider-Man is all wacky and the Avengers are all serious.

EMH and Avengers Assemble dont take place in the same universe. when it was first announced that AA was coming out they mentioned that the two shows would be connected but soon after that they denied that claim. on the wiki it mentions that Hank Pym was formerly known as Ant-man but had retired and gave to job to Scott, and the Wasp is not mentioned. in Episode 1 Iron Man mentions that he's reassembling the team and in scenes of the Avengers mansion theres a statue/memorial area. No names are given for any of the (8) statues but it can be assumed there was another group of Avengers before the current group. AA resembles the movie universe more then the previous cartoon so it could be assume that the original Wasp is dead, or retired alongside Pym. the lack of Banner thing kinda bothers me as he hasnt been seen at all, but the Agents of SMASH wiki says that Hulk cant turn back into Banner even when hes calm, so who knows whats up with that. Spidey and SMASH are wacky and more random then AA because theyre geared towards younger children then AA is
