Unfortunately, I share just about all thoughts expressed in this thread, positive, negative and conflicting.

Honestly, I don't know if I'll be able to participate in this particular Marvel outing... I have it temporarily on my mental pull list, but the truth is that I have to wait to see what the scope is ACTUALLY going to look like in the May/June/July solicits... the # of issues, tie-ins and the like will make a big difference. I'm one of those readers (pathetic, yes) that feels compelled to tie-ins... and while I (sheepishly admit to) enjoy them, numbers are a huge factor. If there are limited (and appropriate) tie-in features, I would roll with them... but if it comes to be that every single title with an 'x-' or 'avengers' in the title ties in, in addition to a 12 issue central series and a 12 issue side series (and multiple additional minis) as has been the trend... I might pass on everything but the main event... and even that I might can. If you can't get the full experience for an affordable price, settling for the diminished can be about as enjoyable as reading a wikipedia summary.

If I have to I'll enjoy what comes through those titles already on my pull list.

I will probably pick up #0 to see what the story arc is going to be a about and what is going to come out of the story arc.

O_O I will be getting this whole arc but if its terrible i will officially bar reading any more events.

I've only been collecting comics long enough to be around for fear itself so my patience is already strained greatly, fingers crossed this will be decent

Sadly proven to be true by today's news, as Avengers will indeed be featuring tie-in material. We'll see how far this stretches when we get to April's solits. I should set out a limit number of tie-ins right now... but I'm too tired to do so. Unfortunately, my guess is that I'll probably be joining the proposed 'boycott'... although mostly as a protest of my wallet's gaping black hole.

I don't get why so much rage is over this. People pair up avengers vs x-men members in fantasy fights all the time and now we will actually get to see it play out . I'm excited to see who fights who. Though I hope they don't actually pair Hulk and Emma Frost.
