The Young Avengers return in an epic, bi-monthly Marvel maxi-series by series creators Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung. When Wiccan's reality-altering powers begin to rival those of the Scarlet Witch, the young hero sets out on a quest to find her that spans the Marvel Universe and pits Wiccan against both the Avengers and the Young Avengers. But will Wiccan's desire to solve the mystery of his parentage be his salvation or his undoing? This self-contained Marvel maxi-series reintroduces and redefines the Young Avengers and the Scarlet Witch for the Heroic Age and is essential reading for any Avengers fan.

The Young Avengers do battle with the Sons of the Serpent....In the mean time to make things interesting there is a little narrative going on where the each Individual Young Avenger is pointed out and they kind of talk about their journey from where they started to where they are now. This fight becomes a problem for the Young Avengers when Teddy (Hulkling) gets blasted by one of the Sons of the Serpent when he had turned his attention to his dialogue between he and the assailant. One of the members then attempts to set off a nuclear arms. When he goes to do so there is a big flash so you are to assume they set the nukes off but that wasn't the case. The flash was actually Wiccan who ended up putting all of the Members of the Sons of the Serpent they were fighting in a coma. The Avengers had already appeared at this time.Iron Man,Captain America, and Ms.Marvel.After seeing what Wiccan did they wanted to take him back to the Avengers Tower to talk about his powers.

When Wiccan learned that they wanted to run test on him he didn't like it. The name Scarlet Witch was brought up in response to his displays of power.Wiccan not only believes he is Wanda's son along with his brother Tommy (Speed), but he also believes she is innocent and didn't really cause House of M, which he states after they explain House of M too him. When Wiccan walks out on the Avengers he later finds Captain America at his house. Knowing the Avengers would go after him the Young Avengers followed and soon Wiccan and Cap were reunited with Hulking after Wiccan and Cap shared some interesting conversation about Scarlet Witch. The Avengers put Wiccan and Hulkling in a holding cell one they are sprung from by Speed and Vision. Vision shut down the alarms in the Avengers towers and Speed vibrated their molecules so they could pass through the wall. The Young Avengers then show up to confirm to Wiccan that they are in this with him. Stature chimes in and wants to help Wiccan find Scarlet Witch because she could bring her father back as she did Hawkeye and Wonder Man. Just then Magneto shows up.

This was a good comic, I loved the whole concept of the series and the fact they are exploring the 'Scarlet Witch' storyline after all this time, it's something I've been dying to see for a long, long while. The character development of Wiccan is a good story too, exploring his powers more while adding an aura of mystery throughout. It also raises more questions on Scarlet Witch and the depowerisation of mutants, was it really all her doing? or was somebody else involved? - hopefully the climax ...

    Avengers: The Children's Crusade Issue 1 0

Before I say anything else, let me say this. I LOVE Young Avengers. It is by far one of my favorite comics of all time. The original 12 issues were fantastic, and in fact the first hardcover collection I bought was Young Avengers volume 1. I can't begin to tell you how excited I was for this, and thank the lord, I was not disappointed. Heinberg and Cheung are back, and boy does it feel good.  The issue begins with the Young Avengers fighting the Sons of the Serpent, a group devoted to racial and...

    Great start!! 0

I have never read any of the Young Avengers books, but was convinced to pick this one up because of all the great reviews.  I must say I am extremely happy I did and cannot wait for the next issue.    The Good There is really a ton to like in this issue.  First off, the characters are very well written and likable.  I enjoyed seeing the relationship between Wiccan and Hulkling.  Second, the art is very pleasing to the eye.  The people are well drawn and the last page is a pretty cool picture.  T...
