Since Marvel launched those previews of Avengers Academy everibody has been saying: "they look lame", "this is going to be bad", things like that...
I only have a question: Now that the issues are on the market do you love or still hate them?
Avengers Academy
Team » Avengers Academy appears in 211 issues.
The Avengers Academy is a program where veteran heroes help train young people with dangerous super-powers and damaged psyches to become valuable heroes.
Does anibody like Avengers academy?
The Avengers Academy was 'okay', it wasn't as good as I expected though.
The issue didn't really pull me in, some of the new characters were interesting. But I would have liked it if they included atleast one member of the team that was more well known or has been seen before .. other than a new cast of unknowns
I've really enjoyed it so far. I love the way that established characters feel like they've moved on & grown (take a hint Uncanny X-Men!!)
The characters in Avengers Academy have their own unique personalities and powers. sort of makes them cool!
The book is ok but I don't see myself liking to many of the characters.Finesse and Veil are cool but the rest of the characters are pretty lame. Why did they change Fortress's name to Mettle? That's the lamest superhero name ever. This book also reminds me every time that half the Initiative graduates and members are M.I.A with no mention of where they are...the New Warriors as well.

I will give them a chance but I still can't help seeing them and thinking we already had some young heroes out there who we already know and have gotten to know every well over the last couple of events and now they are just M.I.A." I was reading it before Fear Itself. I stopped because I can't stand useless tie-ins. Will resume reading soon. Has anything significant happened since?

quit, Avengers Academy moved to the former West Coast Avengers base, and a bunch of new characters joined? including
The Avengers Academy has become my favorite series coming out. I was skeptical at first, but I now recommend the book to everyone.
I like it, but i was genuinly angry when i read this mornings issue. not because of he story or anything but this one thing luke cage says. its just SO stereotypical muscle head black guy
{spoiler alert}
So when luke gets mad at striker for getting smart with cap, Mettle decks him, they scrap and get broken up by jocasta, and the kids walk away and for some some stupid reason toklen cage just has to say"My daddy would say ain't nothi wrong with those kids a few licks with a switch can't cure"...WTF? seriously? what, did they watch three hours of chris rock stand-up and feel like this would touch home base for the black folks? I hate the stereotyping in marvel its so insulting
I love this series but I still don't get how they got their powers...Striker? Mettle? Veil? I know Norman messed with them to escalate their power development but where did the powers come from? I'm probably the only one being driven insane by this.

Its kinda of a mystery, indeed.Theyre powers just turned on.But they're never adressed as mutants.Striker's powers activated when he was still young and Veil's in high school,I belive it's a genetic condition but nobody considers them Homo Superior.
I enjoy the series overall but I do think it has some problems it needs resolving. For instance a better explanation as to where their powers came from, it seems to be hinted at it's all from accidents from some science lab but we haven't had any progression in that department.
