A handful of fighters remain outside the inner wall in the titan ravaged city. They're out of gas and the refilling at the depot is too dangerous. Armin tells Mikasa that his squad is dead, and Eren died trying to save him. Mikasa calls the rest cowards and sets off to tackle the titans alone, but soon runs out of gas and crashes to the street. As Mikasa lies cornered and vulnerable to attack by an approaching titan, she reflects back on events and struggles with whether it's even worth fighting anymore.
