    Not What It Used To Be 2

    The Story: Abigail Brand is in a crashing ship heading towards San Francisco. The X-Men rush to save her. Afterwards they run into a mutant believed to be dead who transforms into a Sentinel followed by an attack by the Brood and Krakoa leaving the X-Men in a world of confusion as to who is behind everything. My Thoughts:This story arc is ocne agin written by Warren Ellis.     Picked this collection up in hardcover form when my shop was having a buy two get one free sale on hardcovers. I wanted to get caught up to where I started reading Astonishing in monthly form - Monstrous/Meanwhile. In a way, the constant delays that plagued Astonishing X-Men have been a mixed blessing. While the book had to cede the flagship title spot back to Uncanny X-Men, it had the luxury to develop stories that fit in the cracks of the other books.     All Action. Little Character Development. Still Awesome 0

    Whedon/Cassiday are a tough act to follow. It's like taking the stage after Zeppelin--whatever you do pales in comparison. But even though Ellis's "Exogenetic" doesn't feature the character depth and exploration of Whedon's run, this volume gives fans exactly what you expect from an X-Men comic: action, explosions, aliens and a disgruntled Wolverine.It begins with Agent Brand hurtling to Earth in a battered spaceship, then a bio-sentinel descends on the X-Men.
