I can't help but wish though that they did something like this for Superman...and the same for wishing they did the same for Batman as they did Superman.....that would be soooo cool!

Love it!! It's plot is sort of similar to Matt Wagner's Batman and the Monster Men (which is a refreshing take on an old Golden Age Batman story). I highly recommend it and its sequel, Batman and the Mad Monk!

Bruce Timm's 3 min short was superior to anything we seen in "Beware the Batman" or "Teen Titans Go".

Most of the people commenting are missing the point:

Timm obviously made this to contrast it with the modern Batman by showing how far the character has come. In all likelihood, he has several more shorts planned to show the progression of the character over 75 years of existence.

He wasn't trying for a deep, B:TAS plot here. He was capturing the original feel of the character and setting.

That's why the crude tear gas gun, stick fighting and letting Strange fall, along with the one-liner.

For once Superman clearly bested Batman.

I want a batman short just like superman

Pretty good short from Timm which is to be expected from the man. And I KNEW they'd get Conroy back for that one liner. Even with two words, he can still be epic as Batman.

Ah man now why can't we have a tv series like this. Awesome throwback to the 40's Batman. However the superman short was superior. Not that this wasn't good it was very good. It's just that the superman one was a bit more more awesome.

This really makes me miss JLU, partially because the Batman design is so similar.

I enjoyed this short. It shows me just how far Cartoon Network has fallen. In almost 3 minutes it showed what a good cartoon looks like. A rare thing on Cartoon Network.

Didn't anyone else notice that he shot TEARGAS at them? How is it that no one but the giant chap reacted to it? He didn't even wear a gas mask. Anyway, great short nonetheless. Yayy Batsy!

I definitely agree. Besides, I doubt he had one of those ropes for Strange in the belt of his. It's Strange's fault for standing on a crappy cliff in the first place.

"I won't kill you but I don't have to save you" doesn't apply when you sabotage the train knowing it will result in certain death when it crashes.
