WALKING DEAD pilot to start shooting

The start date's locked like a crypt seal.

For a while, THE WALKING DEAD TV show was moving along like a Romero zombie.   It shuffled slowly, gradually… with creeping inevitability?

Now, it’s coming at you like one of those hyper 28 DAYS LATER zombies! It’s sprinting fast and furiously!

Coming to a screen near you?

According to Bloody Disgusting, director Frank Darabont’s got a start date locked for the 15 of May. On that day, shooting will commence for the pilot  adaptation of this ghastly, ghoulish comic.

 Unused and discontinued.

This news come on the heels of my report last week regarding the reviews that have arisen for the show’s pilot script. One was all for it, the other was all against it.

Now, let’s be clear - - a pilot still doesn’t mean that a WALKING DEAD show is coming to your TV set, dead to rights. A lot of pilots get shot that never make get picked up.   Earlier this week, I showed all you maniacs the unused pilot for a JUSTICE LEAGUE show in the 90s. And then there was HEAT VISION AND JACK - - the Ben Still-directed, Jack Black and Owen Wilson-starring, Rob “SCUD THE DISPOSABLE ASSASSIN” Schrab-created, crazy bizarre pilot that’s gained  quite a bit of notoriety for never getting turned into a series.

 Wish him luck!
 Wish him luck!

So if you’re foaming at the bit for a WALKING DEAD show, I suggest you get out your four-leaf clover and start furiously rubbing that rabbit’s foot you carry around, because Mr. Darabont’s going to need your good vibes, your good graces and your good luck.
