Bill Hader and Seth Meyers from Saturday Night Live are making their Marvel writing debut with "Spider-Man: The Short Halloween." Fan-fav artist, Kevin Maguire is joining in on the fun. It's Halloween and things get crazy at a Greenwich Village costume party. After Spider-Man gets knocked out, things get worse. A drunken party-goer decides to take his place.
How did this come about? Spidey editor, Stephen Wacker told MTV News, "As most things do, it started over drinks."

This issue will be a one-shot released on May 13, 2009 with a cover price of $3.99. Does the zany set up for the story appeal to you? Does the fact that this is written by Bill Hader & Seth Meyers matter to you? What about Kevin Maguire's art? With the choices we have to make as consumers at the comic shop each week, I wonder if a crazy, fun but not-crucial-to-continuity story is enough of a reason for people to buy this. I know I'll be picking it up.
