Six DC Comics Titles End in August 2014 [Update]

So are we going to get DC new 52 NOW?! Sometime in the future?

I don't understand the hate on Batwing. Even if it did have low sales, who cares? It was an impressive title with both characters' runs. I absolutely loved it, even more than Nightwing. Superboy was not surprising as hat Jon El just ruins everything. He's trying to kill all metahumans when he is one? Never read All Star Western. Worlds' Finest = meh. After Blight and Forever Evil, what could you really do with Pandora and Phantom Stranger? Now...if they would cancel Justice League 3000 and reboot LSH, with some actually good storylines and arts, that'd be nice. LSH used to be a really interesting read, until New 52.

I haven't read much of either Phantom Stranger or Pandora but I am still kinda sad to see them go. I love the DC Dark line and any time one of those series gets cancelled, I am kinda bummed. Hopefully JLD, Constantine (unless they wanted to relaunch or continue Hellblazer at Vertigo), and Swamp Thing stick around.

Not gonna lie this sucks im gonna miss alot of these particularity superboy i wanted to know where it was going theyre probably gonna retcon him with an alternate reality version at this rate.

And what Bat books will be replacing these titles?

Phantom Stranger, I will definitely miss. Pandora to a lesser degree. The rest, not at all.

Well this was never really that big of a tittle, also Andrew Bennet just can't catch a break, he's titles ( which was one of DC's best ) ended, and now this tittles last issue will be with him in it. And with this & Stranger ending, I feel sad knowing that The Question will never get his own series...though maybe Specter could? ( please DC please )

Superboy:

People say that this book got better, but ever since they made the book crossover with Psy war, I stopped reading, and after Lobdel killed him only to put some retard in his place, I stopped completely, and refuse to pick it up no matter how good it gets. I swear we better get Konnor Kent rebooted!!

Birds of Prey:

Not gonna lie, stopped reading this, but that was because of money, not cause it was bad, I just know that this better not be replaced by a solo book, or even worse, solo bat-member book. ( I'm looking at Stephanie & Harper for this one )

Batwing:

Let's be real, this was never going to last, and it's nice to get some batman titles off the shelves and get some new heroes in the spotlight, though I am sad for Jimmi Paltomi, hope he gets to write some other comic that I will be more interested in, love the writer.

All-Star Wester:

Wow...so Jimmi is losing 2 books, and 1 of them is even one of the greatest DC books out there...

SPOT ON! I dropped BOP and Superboy for the same reasons… and really to me after revealing Pandora's origin so early on the book kinda lost it's appeal (at least to me), she could have been a better handled. All Star Western is amazing so it's a shame it's going away… but the one I won't really miss is Batwing, after the first arc back when it debuted I sort of lost interest unfortunately. Hopefully we'll get more spotlight on other heroes.

Goddammit DC I want some dark titles to read in the future that is not JLD or Constantine...

Not particularly sad to see any of these go. Birds of Prey lost my interest after the whole Starling ordeal.

@vitalius: That would just be really weird, pairing Ollie with Dinah Drake Lance, considering he and her daughter, Dinah Laurel Lance have been an item for forever. However the younger Dinah's father's name was Larry Lance.

@punyparker: You're absolutely right! It's not Nightwing! It's the extremely controversial new status quo for Dick Grayson!

@zbvmx: Yes, they do, but those are technically Futures End one-shots, so these technically are the last issues of the series.

@cantdance93: I might agree with you about the next titles to end, but I may have misread the situation but it seemed to me that Constantine gained a huge surge in popularity after the Blight crossover ended. It happened to Red Lanterns.

I have to admit, once I saw Palmiotti and Gray get the start of the new G.I. Zombie series, I saw the cancellation of All-Star Western a mile away. Here's hoping they also get to do a New 52 Freedom Fighters series soon. Which I figure may happen since Batwing is cancelled as well.

Will really miss All Star Western, Phantom Stranger and Pandora, they were solid books but just not pulling in the numbers DC needs I guess. All Star kinds of surprises me as I thought that book got a free pass because of strong trade paperback sales (at least before New 52). Have they been releasing All Star Western trades since the reboot?

All-star western, I just cried a little.

I have to say I am very disappointed that Phantom Stranger is getting the axe; it's consistently been very compelling story-telling. In the wake of its absence, I will probably go ahead and pick up JL Dark in the hopes of keeping tabs with how the 30 pieces of silver are coming along.

Well I had been debating for the longest ending Birds of Prey on my pull. I guess DC decided for me to end it. I love the characters but every arc dealing with some member betraying the group gets old.

Wow. DC really hates their black heroes huh?

Sigh.... so many good comics lost. I was buying all of these comics just so they wouldn't be canceled. My wallet feels better, but my heart dose not :(

Ironic that world's finest, the one series people were happiest to see end, actually ended up not ending.

All-Star Western has been cancelled? That sucks.

I was going to start reading the trades soon but it sucks that the series has been cancelled.

Surprised Phantom Stranger is ending, I liked the more religious and God element to it. All well, hint hint DC MAKE A DAMN SPECTRE SERIES!

Pandora I figured would end at some point, she's a cool character though.

Superboy never had interest in but the multiverse element interests me.

Never read AS Western. No interest. Jonah Hex ehh was never a character that "screamed" at me.

I also never read much Batwing, always saw it as too much of a wanna be Batman Beyond/Terry kind of character. Now that Terry is actually in the N52, not much point of Batwing staying around I guess. He'll probably remain in the N52 continuity though.

Not shocked about All-Star Western but it is disappointing all the same. It was a very well written book and the side stories were fun too.

It's too bad about Batwing. I was waiting for the first trade with the new creative team.

I actually LIKED Phantom Stranger, but I am HAPPY his story is ending. After Forever Evil tie ins started it felt like his story didn't have anywhere to go. Pandora even MORE so. I didn't really care for her book, but she didn't really have any big impact on Trinity War, and that was supposed to be her BIG THING it seemed.

As for Worlds' Finest, I always liked the CONCEPT more than the WRITING.

My first thought at seeing the title was Birds of Prey. It hasn't been that good for a while. If they kept Ivy and Starling it might have been better. I'll still miss it.

Happy World's Finest isn't going anywhere. It's a lot of fun and that's what it's all about for me.

Not sad to see any of the others go but I feel bad for those of you that were reading them. That's a bummer.

Can't wait to see what they do with Canary. I thought the Bertinelli Huntress of the main Earth was dead?

Hex is one of my favorite comic book characters! I just hope DC makes him a regular on another title...

Actually Black Canary is Dinah Drake Lance. Lance comes from her marriage with Kurt Lance.

Maybe the huntress becomes nightwing a side kick whenever he returns to the nightwing mantle...if he does.

It's sad to see Batwing go. I'm kind of glad superboy is ending. Really it's not even actual superboy anymore. Hopefully the real Kon can come back in teen titans.

Hopefully Birds of Prey gets relaunched with Helena Bertinelli, Barbara Gordon and Dinah Lance/Drake with Gail Simone as the writer
