Sif Heading to 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'

I want her to be shown as a bullet proof impossible force against enemy agents.

Cool, might give that episode a watch but still not entirely fussed with the show.

I gave up after 4 episodes. I don't have much time to watch very much television, and it didn't grab my attention enough to have me stick around until it was finally more then just a decent show.

This makes me second guess myself.

That sounds like a great idea....if I had any hope that this show would do "tie-ins" well. The Thor: the Dark World one was kinda fun especially because it opened with them literally cleaning the mess. But yea I doubt it'll be anything great.

Doing a MCU tv series that is so directly tied to a post-Avengers timeline wasn't going to b easy in the first place. Keeping the necessities of being apart but still tied into something greater. That said it isn't an impossible task and Agents of SHIELD has gone about being apart but teathered entierly the wrong way. They say Battle of New York this Asgard that. Arrow says Ra's Al Ghul and the League of Shadows and it fits.

I'll check it out but, I feel like I have to force myself to watch this show and if it wasn't for these tie-in episodes I probably wouldn't bother watching it.

That sounds pretty cool! I would really dig if Hawkeye, Widow or even Cap made appearances though since they would fit perfectly in the universe and tone of the show. Now THAT would be a sight to see.

this sounds cool but imo they need to move away from the movies and do their own thing more...make them deal with darker side of the MCU...and stop constantly referencing the Marvel movies

Oh, them rose tinted glasses. Yes, Arrow is good now, but a lot of season one was just boring enemy of the week episodes with only the island flashbacks to make it interesting. Let SHIELD at least finish the season before completely writing it off.

Agents of SHIELD has steadily improved for me. Sometimes the humor's too cheesy and it's a bit predictable, but it really is showing me flashes of being a pretty damn good show by season 2. Just needs to make it through the growing pains. How have the ratings been?

I guess they are now just adding blunter Marvel stuff in this show.

I don't know, I just think the main characters are the problem as they are so generic. Just cut the cast down to Coulson, Melinda and the two scientist. Get rid of Skye and Ward.

This is show is really starting to grow on me. The last episode and it's revelations about how Phil Coulson came back from the dead was shocking.

That said I really think Marvel should use this show to showcase some of the rarer talent in the Marvel Universe that we might not see in the million dollar movies. Like it'd be awesome to have Doc Samson make an appearance, to have this green hair super smart psychiatrist with Hulk level strength walking around or helping out as an agent of Shield.

Or a Hercules story arc that deals with Olympus. That would just be epic. Use all that untapped material that's just below movie-risk status.

Awesome! I didn't think Sif had as much screen time in Thor 2 as she should've, so I'm glad she'll get some more importance. I really do hope she has a real role and doesn't just show up for a brief moment.

When it comes to S.H.I.E.L.D. on the other hand he was mostly just there for the Pilot episode and is busy making Avengers 2. There was talk before the show started that he was in regular contact with the writing team, but i doubt it.

Interesting that Marvel's already had Nick Fury, Maria Hill, and now Sif cameo in the show...yet Arrow's only had Barry Allen appear and the shows still better than AoS.

I think the show should just take a hard look at itself and realize its a comic book based show, or at least thats what a lot of viewer want. Holding back on weird stuffs isnt helping, get some real villians in.

Exactly. Marvel's mistake is that they made a show about random nobodies and think that when the show starts to tank they can save it by throwing in actual Marvel characters for an episode. The problem is that this new episode with Sif may bring ratings up, but the ratings for the following episode will probably begin to tank again.

I honestly forgot about this show and I used to watch it from the first episode on. It's just so...forgettable. I never finish an episode wanting more or feeling satisfied. I wanted this to succeed, but I don't see it happening.

The last two episodes have definately gotten better. I sort of fell off of this show after the first few, but the wife kept watching hoping it'd get better.

Hopefully Sif has more than just a "cameo", and contributs something. The lack of superpowers in a show set in a superhero universe is killing it. Lady Sif and the Warriors Three sounds like abetter show than Agents of SHIELD, I wouldn't mind seeing Jamie Alexander for an hour a week kick the crap out of people.

I haven't even started watching this show yet, but I might have to check this episode out; there's never enough Lady Sif. That would be cool if this show features some of the side characters form the movies.

I think if this show had come out as is BEFORE Avengers it wouldn't be as much of a problem. We are expecting 8 mutants and a hellicarrier full of future tech because the movie was able to tap into that part of the Division.

But but its harder for shows to get permission to use characters. And contract the film actors. And of course, it cant impede on the cannon of the live action universe. If they cast a Luke Cage for example, he would have to be the same person they used in the movies if they ever got around to him. AND he can't have trouble fighting anyone of a certain caliber, or it would lessen him in the films.
Stop thinking of the show as an Avenger's tv show. Its not. Its a tie-in where nothing really big can happen. Its supposed to relieve the pressure we are building up waiting for the next set of films and sometimes add little easter eggs. And Its still really good at it.

His brother Jed and his Wife are the head writers for AoS. The Whedon writing team since like 2007 or so. They have pretty much been a core part of every Whedon thing since Dr. Horrible (including Avengers and Much Ado).

is this going to be like the thor 2 tie where the agents ended up being pretty much janitors and clean up a huge mess left over? after that episode i realized the show cant be saved. i love jamie alexander and nothing against her but knowing how this show is she will probably appear in a scene thats it and would be pointless imo. and let me say one more thing. if marvel dosent even give alexander a chance with more screen time she is better off leaving them and going to warner bros because at least there she will be given more than just 5 minutes of screen time
