Given the chance, it's likely that just about any Marvel movie fan would love to have a fully licensed replica Iron Man mask based on the props used in the Marvel Studios films, right? That's about as close as we might get to actually feeling like Iron Man. Yet, what if you could have more? What if you could have nearly all of the gadgets used by Marvel's Avengers? The fact is, you could -- sort of.
Tom Spina Designs has created a Marvel movie-themed desk featuring licensed replica props from Marvel's upcoming 'Avengers' film. The props include a replica Iron Man, Thor's hammer, Captain America's shield, Nick Fury's gun, Hulk's gamma chamber and Hawkeye's signature arrows. The piece is a fully functioning desk with a glass surface and includes a set of drawers hidden behind replica Hawkeye's arrows as well as a set of shelves hidden by the faux gamma chamber. The metal desk was made exclusively by Tom Spina Designs and will be auctioned mid to late 2012, just in time for the Marvel movie. The company claims that the piece is one of a kind, meaning, there is only one like it.
While the props are cool they are exactly that, props. We don't anticipate that Nick Fury's Needle Gun will be fully functioning, or that Thor's hammer will endow you with the powers of the God of Thunder. Still, this is clearly a prize for any Marvel film buff. The question remains, at what price? We will have to wait and see mid 2012 when the item finally goes up for grabs.
