I stopped taking these character changes/deaths from MARVEL seriously a loooong time ago. It's laughable at this point. Peter Parker no longer Spider-Man? The death of Wolverine? Thor is no longer worthy?....okay, right -_-

I still like this idea more than New 52 Wally West. Although we ALL know this female Thor will last as long as Superior Spider-Man, Death of Wolverine, and the new Captain America.

Just thinking about Thor's personality inside that new body makes me find her super adorable :3

Don't forget that the All-Father were replaced with the All-Mothers, Loki now being both male/female, and Asgard was replaced with Asgardia.

@lvenger: Currently I'm reading Flash, Superman, Justice Leauge. I'm looking for something like maybe some other Superman comic cause the art in solo run I'm currently reading is a little annoying lol. Anything you suggest, will be fine. I want to look at as many options as possible.

It'd be awesome if you could suggest some street level heroes as well. I just realized I barely even read any comics with them

Yeah, well, the best thing I can do now is wait for the new Winter Soldier ongoing. As DC disappointed me with the New 52 (and Grayson, geez, DC), now Marvel is doing about the same. Apart from that, I think it's about time to turn back and read old, good DC and Marvel. And wait for this shit going on to calm down. It will, eventually... Hopefully.

Well this is a surprise. Jason Aaron is writing it? Ok I'm sold. So what's happening to Thor Odinson? He's not going anywhere? They're giving him Jarnbajorn, and he's going to be around to fight the Red Skulls Red Onslaught. Ok I'm fine with that.

I'm okay with them doing this, but calling her Thor is a little odd. Thor is his name not a title so calling her that would be strange.

As to the people complaining before reading a single issue about this new character taking the reins or what happens to Thor Odinson.

Marvel is Calling Iron Man Captain America & Thor their big 3? How cute, I mean come on marvel. You literally just took the 3 heroes closest to DC's trinity & are forcing them to be your trinity, not to mention that they are taking the one that is similar to WW and making him into a chick...

How are these guys so ahead of DC, someone please explain...

WHY,WHY, why do you change your best characters Marvel, why? First Captain America, then wolverine without healing factor, now Thor, why can´t you just let the characters be who they are supposed to be. Instead of atracting new readers with this, you are going to make many readers leave the title

And it can't be anyone other than Angela, otherwise what's the point of the whole "Thor's sister" silliness of tying her into Asgard?

Either way, I'm sure it'll have a massive and meaningful impact on Marvel for years to come, just like Wolverine's, Johnny Storm's, Steve Rogers', and Peter Parker's deaths.

@dernman: That's totally the same feeling I got too. This reeks of editorial influence which can always have negative consequences. With the way Aaron was writing his title e.g. introducing a new love interest for Thor, setting up The League of Realms, teasing a Nine Realms War, this move flies flat in the face of Aaron's initial build up.

I'm not knowledgeable on Thor Girl so I could be wrong but the description sounded a lot like Thor. Either that or Marvel are really following through on their plans to tie Angela into the Marvel Universe.

Feminism is pulled up too often nowadays. And it's usually done in a cheap, veiled execution too. As is this PR stunt hidden behind promoting female superheroes.

Well she's called War sometimes but I agree, it doesn't change the fact that Thor is Thor's name, not an identity to be passed along. I can't see Aaron calling this new character Thor which is even more evidence of female influence.

Technically, Mjolnir amps his weather manipulation powers by a lot but there are numerous showings where Thor has used his weather control without it. I have the feeling the Thor creative team might overlook this though. Which is stupid on their end.

Well put. It's like when they turned Wally West black(I'm black, just to put it out there); instead of inroducing new characters or promote smaller female/black characters, they go the lazy route and change a character entirely.

Yeeeaaah, Some how I don't think it's the Thor fans that have been asking for change, moreso the invisible demographic of females that are lining up to buy comics and would happily buy Thor comics if only she had tits.

If Thor (Odinson (wow that's so stupid, naming her Thor)) doesn't get his own title, I'm just done with Marvel.

If it's street level DC books you're looking for, the best bet might be in the Bat universe. Scott Snyder's Batman is highly acclaimed though I'd wait till after Zero Year finishes. Detective Comics is also shaping up to be a solid street level book so maybe that'll work. Grayson is another candidate mixing an espionage super spy tale with the superhero formula. I'm looking forward to reading that myself.

Sadly I can't offer any jump on Superman titles outside of Johns' Superman which you're reading. Maybe trades of Morrison's Action Comics run might appeal to you. Or you can get the deluxe Superman Unchained trade which comes out in October. That's been one of the best Superman stories in The New 52.

After some time thinking about I'm going to wait and read the first issue when comes out or at least check the reviews for the first issue .

This is daft. Why don't they just make new female characters or give an established female character their own series.

I do find Snyder's Batman to be overrated but loads of people seem to like it so maybe you will too. And no problem, even if you don't like what I've suggested, it's better than what's on offer here -_-

I could care less if Thor is a female, I grew up with him being a frog, brittle bones, horse faced and shirtless. I am curious to see what this rookie will do when Thanos comes back.

Also I'm kinda okay with it because of one thing. It's god stuff, hyper advanced magical stuff. Can be done easily enough and undone just as easily. It's not gonna last, I know that much. Also this COULD be Marvel's way of introducing Thor's daughter Thrudd from Norse mythology. NONE of his kids from myth have appeared in the mainstream universe, just Magni from The Reigning and he was undone when Thor stopped himself from ever taking over Earth.

I'm gonna give it a shot. Could be good, could be bad, but I'll still give it a shot.

This is too much of a cash grab to me. Oh my god, I was watching some news and they think its progressive thing. Yes, its okay to target market, but if you alienate your base. You still lose, all you doing is a shell game. Nowadays, I don't pick up any Marvel, once they start doing things to x-men, I figure something wrong here. I like for woman to become powerful, right here is your borrowing someone else spot light and you can not stand on your own; this is the message for me.

With that said, I'll be still happy to stick to my little X-corner of Marvel and GotG, my few DC and Indie books. Since Marvel has found a way to slash my pull list in half with them mutilating the Big 3, and Wolverine, I can expand my Indie list quite a bit more now. At least until the next year when Avengers 2 comes out and everything gets quickly rammed together to fit the movie.
