Marvel Announces New Mini-Series Spinning Out of Death of Wolverine

Huh, can't say I didn't see this come. Surprised to see Daken in there, though. I actually talked about X-23 being a Wolverine successor awhile back, in the forums concerning the Death of Wolverine preview- it'll be interesting to see where they go after this. It would be interesting to see X-23 take up the legacy of Wolverine- it'd be a change-up to the whole successor thing, having a female character step-up & be a successor to one of the most high-profile male characters in all of comicdom. It'd be a ballsy move if they took that approach- & unique. Daken(Mr. I'm dead-I'm alive-I'm dead again-I'm alive again) is just too psycho to be a successor, though it would be interesting if they could develop him into the more unpredictable & morally ambiguous character that Wolverine was in his early days, prone to attack friend as well as foe, & you wouldn't know what he was going to do next. (Though I never cared for Daken AT ALL.)

Is Marvel actually this oblivious? Sabertooth is one of their most hated characters. No one wants him around anymore.

So Marvel's writing a story about how a major character is being taken out of the 'verse, impacting everyone, start soliciting as Forever Evil draws to a close, and they hired the Nightwing and the Grayson writer and Tynion for the mini series, all of whom are also on Batman: Eternal...

They did recently. It was in Wood's X-Men run, I think somewhere around the middle issues,don't quite remember though.

This is why I don't like the big two much. Death really has no meaning. We know you're gonna bring him back. He's one of Marvel's best characters.

10-15 years ago, Marvel actually had a rule that if you were going to kill a character, it had to be permanent.

They got rid of it when Joss Whedon brought Colossus back in Astonishing X-Men.

Haven't been paying much attention to this topic.

I have pretty much no interest in this event -- Logan isn't really even in anything I'm reading -- but any excuse to feature X-23 will get my attention (unless Hopeless is writing it). Doubt I'll buy the whole mini, but I will definitely pick up her spotlight issue. Hope they actually read up on the relationship between the two of them.

they spoke in an Xmen (not sure which one) series and in her last solo title.

Also the last NYX, which was hilarious because Wolverine got mistaken for a pimp. I feel like the fact that he was wearing a cowboy hat at the time only made it better for everyone involved.
