There are many projects seeking funding on Kickstarter. We do our best to highlight them when we can. The lastest we discovered deals with good and evil cyborgs, a multi-racial cast and a the unfortunate final request of a man with a vision.

WARHAWKS was the idea of the late Jason Coffee. He originally designed the idea for the big screen. He had big ideas but was sadly taken too soon. Jason died in 2008 at age 33 after surgery to remove a tumor from his brain.

It was his last request for his voice to be heard.

After Jason's death, his friends tried to figure out how to fulfill his wish. They knew the project was too big to attempt to make a feature film themselves. Instead they chose to go with the medium Jason had a passion for - comics.

Jason's movie script was adapted by Todd and Wade Carney. Mike Chiang designed the characters and Billy Tan (recently announced as the artist for GREEN LANTERN) drew the cover.

Here's a quote we got from Billy:

I was moved by the fact that a group of Jason's friends have gotten together and are trying to make his voice heard. That was his last wish and they are making his wish come true and I could really appreciate what Jason's friends are doing for him.

The Kickstarter funding will go to finance the completion of the interior artwork, printing costs and marketing the comics to a wider audience. You can visit the Kickstarter page to find out how you can contribute and to find out more. As with most Kickstarter projects, there are incentives for backing a project, including getting a copy of the first issue.
