Kickstarter Alert: Brian Buccellato and Toni Infante's SONS OF THE DEVIL

A comic and short film coming together for a transmedia experience

A new Kickstarter campaign launched today which will get quite a few people really excited. SONS OF THE DEVIL, by Brian Buccellato (DETECTIVE COMICS, BLACK BAT) and Toni Infante have come together to not only create a 32-page comic, but also a 12-15 minute short film that will serve as a companion piece to the comic. The story takes place over multiple storylines, across 25 years, and is someone who survived, as a child, a cult massacre.

In 1989, the FBI raid the remote compound of deranged Cult leader DAVID DALY-- only to find him comatose among the 93 murdered followers he sacrificed in a devil’s bargain. The only survivors are six infants rescued the night before the bloody massacre.

Twenty-five years later we meet one of those infants…

SPOILER ALERT! The next paragraph gives a few things away. So, if you are already hooked and/or don't like spoilers, jump past the cover art and continue reading...

TRAVIS, a troubled father-to-be whose rough childhood was spent in Foster Care. He struggles to cope with fear of abandonment and anger issues until a “chance meeting” leads him to his half sister, JENNIFER… and the realization that he has five brothers and sisters. Travis soon discovers that this meeting was not by chance at all… Not only is his father still alive, but he is determined to finish the devil’s work that he started 25 years ago. So Travis and Jennifer have to race against the clock to find and protect their siblings before David can sacrifice them to the devil in a crazed gambit to bring Hell on earth!

With SONS OF THE DEVIL, it's really a two-for-one deal. Not only are backers helping fund a cool, new comic, but they also will be helping with the creation of a short film. They need $23,000 to make this project happen, which covers the cost of the book, like paying the artist and printing, and the film as well, which covers the locations, production, and paying actors.

There's tons of different options to support the Kickstarter. You can support it for $1 and get a sincere "thank you" from the team. If you've ever wanted to be an actor, you can pledge $1,000 and get a background role in the Sons of the Devil films and be drawn into the comic. For $10, you can get either a digital copy of the film or comic. For $25, you get a signed, physical copy of the comic and digital copy of the film. Plus, there's a bunch more cool levels to choose from.

Check out the video for more information.

Make sure to check out the SONS OF THE DEVIL Kickstarter page for more info and to back this project.

This sounds like a really good miniseries instead of a single comic book.

I love Brian's work, but I agree. In my opinion, it would make a great mini series instead of a one-shot issue. I feel like 32 pages is a little small when trying to portray a story compared to a multiple issue series. But i have faith in Buccellato's story-telling abilities and I think it'll be great.
