So, you have to wait extra time, and go to a specialist shop to get the few female characters available?

That's not cool. I might have to write a stiff letter to someone.

Any Groot merchandise, I will get. More like have to get, but I like to pretend I have some control.

This rubbed me the wrong way, as well. I'm looking into this and see what it means. Why does Marvel keep on making the mistake of failing to market to young girls? It just feels like they keep dropping the ball.

@ms-lola: As much as I think Black Widow is a bad choice for the female face of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I've been quite disappointed in the low amount of merchandise for her I see in shops. It'll be interesting to see if Guardians Of The Galaxy merchandising works out better for women, particularly for Gamora, but for Nebula and Nova Prime too(or other characters who may be in it. I haven't seen it yet).

Hopefully this Minimates thing is an anomaly, and it'll be better overall, though there is this, where Gamora is the only member not represented in a team box set. :/ It seems to be an older product that's still available, so maybe there'll be an updated version soon.

They're pretty difficult to pose and play with. Took me twenty minutes to get Peggy Carter and a Hydra Soldier to hold their weapons and stand up. Minimates are best for leaving in the box and displaying on a shelf, I think.

I cannot tell you how perturbed I am (an understatement of my real feelings at the moment) over the omission of Gamora in that set shown in the other thread. I think these toy companies need to expand or replace their chosen focus groups when deciding what products to come up with. Or maybe replace the people in charge of them overall.

@ms-lola: It must be a pretty crazy focus group if they came to the conclusion that making it difficult to get the whole team was a good idea.

If they think the female characters wouldn't sell or something they could have put them in packs with named characters that definitely will appeal. Like they could have had Drax & Nebula, with Rocket, and Groot & Gamora. Rocket and Groot seem to be a kind of duo, so people would buy both packs to get them, and then they'd have female characters they might not have bought otherwise.

As for the action figures, Rocket looks more like a glorified accessory than a figure, so it certainly seems like Gamora could have been included. It seems like that set is based on the previous comic series, which(I haven't read) seems to have included Mantis and Phyla-Vell in more or equal issues to these characters, which makes this set even more unfair.

It really bothers me that this is a perfect opportunity to try and market some new heroes to children, but they're making it difficult for the women.

They look scaring. If I were a child I would never buy it.
