'Gotham' TV Show to Include Popular Characters

A Fox executive says quite a few familiar faces will appear and even names a few.

James Gordon's show on Fox is still some time away, but Kevin Reilly, the Fox Entertainment Chaiman, has released some very interesting bits of info during a press tour. We know the show will revolve around James Gordon's life before Bruce Wayne becomes Batman, but Reilly said the show will not include "a bunch of characters you've never heard of." Instead, he says we'll see "all the characters you know, Bruce Wayne, the Penguin, all of them. It's Gotham teetering on the edge, and we see what makes these characters become who they are, [like] Catwoman. It's an operatic soap that has a slightly larger-than-life quality to it."

Reilly also teased we'll see Wayne put on the cowl at "the end of the series." Gotham will "staff up" in February and go "into script right after that." The Mentalist's Bruno Heller will serve as the executive producer.

Viners, are you stoked for Gotham?
