First Look: THOR: GOD OF THUNDER #25

Anyway more of Young Thor is always a delight! :)

At least the last issue of Aaron's Thor run that I'll be buying till this pandering excuse of a PR stunt is reversed looks like it'll be a good read. Malekith was well written in The Accursed, Young Thor is always hilarious to see on his fantasy adventures and I'm glad Old King Thor and The Girls of Thunder get the spotlight one last time. The only problem will be the revelation and transition to this pointless appeal for diversity and gender equality that is the female Thor. Still, once Aaron regains his senses and realises that the original Thor is what people want to really read about, I can go back to enjoying Aaron's run. Till then, this will be the last Thor issue I pick up for some time.

I was very excited for this after reading this solicit then I remembered female Thor is coming next. The end of this awesome series for female Thor. How often do we get to see young Thor and old king Thor? But no, its all ending because of this new gimmick they thought of. I hope Aaron writes his stories the same way he did before when Thor finally returns with mjolnir. I also hope he doesn't longer on the female Thor thing too long, I don't want a year of thor going around dealing with all the things female Thor did. Oh well.

This seems to be a very promising last issue of the good old Thor we know. That is indeed a great all-star team of artists that will be drawing THor which means more goodies for us since we can only simply enjoy what we are seeing. I really want to see how things will turn out and what Aaron has in mind with the female Thor coming around.

I wonder if there's any dialogue in this issue.

Well one more great issue, and then I can add the upcoming Winter Soldier series since this one's over. Goodbye Thor: God of Thunder, you will be missed.

Female Thor should be permanent and the male Thor should be killed off imo. The King Thor future should be erased by the evil machinations of Old Loki in order to give the female a chance to claim the future of Queen Thor for herself, leaving the tales of her male counterpart as lessons that she learns by as her story unfolds. It just seems like a better idea to go that direction in the face of such a big change.

Even if he dies in marvel comics he will survive as a Character, in other comics and in popular culture, that no one can kill or erase, it s history, no other popular comic book Character can be proud of that...

People do remember that the female Thor is Aaron's idea, right? That she is a part of whatever story he is telling in his run. Really a lot of it seems designed to move Thor closer to King Thor.

I feel the same way, bro. I love the Bisley art, the young Thor story looks epic, longships, Frost Giants, Jarnbjorn & all. I've always wanted to se more of Malekith's origins, & I always like seeing King Thor. (Though the whole secret thing makes me a bit nervous.) It does suck that this is the end of what was a really great run, I agree 200% there, in that it is interrupted by a PR pandering publicity stunt. Like you I hope Aaron doesn't linger on "She-Thor" for too long, & having him deal with everything she did when he returns. (And despite what naysayers say, we all know he will.) I hope that when Thor regains Mjolnir that Aaron does go back to writing Thor in the rollicking, epic heavy metal style he did before; that's the Thor fans want. I look at this like Thor in the 90's, pre-Onslaught stuff- dark times for Thor, but he survived & things turned around. I believe that'll happen again. I'm gonna enjoy this one last issue(for now) of the REAL Thor, & wait for his triumphant return, which I hope is so freakin' epic it will make this publicity stunt nothing but a bad memory.

I agree 200%, my friend. This is going to be the last great issue of the REAL Thor for awhile, enjoy it while it lasts before the great id theft. But Marvels going to see, that everything that this female replacement does will forever be in the shadow of the one true Thor, & her series will forever be in the shadow of Thor: God of Thunder. Oh, Thor: GoT, your epicness, how we'll miss you.

I agree, I think Aaron is also trying to do this to move Thor closer to King Thor, & I'm all for that, no problem. It's just Aaron's whole execution of the "unworthy" thing that longtime Thor fans feels is poor, disrespectful to the character & leaves a bad taste in the mouth. And the fact that it interrupted a very acclaimed epic run just to start a new title at issue 1. I know that endless relaunches are a fact of modern comics, though, sadly. If Aaron could pull it off that Fury said something that makes Thor THINK he is unworthy, but is in reality still worthy all along, & tell this great character-driven journey, fighting his way back from the bottom & rediscovering what makes him worthy in the first place- & all along- then I, & other longtime Thor fans, would be much more accepting of it.

Personally, I think everyone should be thanking Marvel for doing what they're doing to fan favorites like Thor, Captain America, Wolverine, and Iron Man. Now that they've temporarily "ruined" them, I can stop buying them, and add different titles to my pull list. Thanks Marvel, for giving me the opportunity to add money to my wallet, so I can check out new titles I normally wouldn't have bought!

Been waiting for this issue to be announced, shame that the art from earlier isn't carrying on.

Most likely the last Thor book I'll be purchasing for a while. If She-Thor gets outstanding reviews I'll give it a try, but I'm not falling for the publicity stunt from the beginning.

IDGAF! I'm riding this girl Thor thing out, it's probably going to be cool. I mean the Thor Frog arc back in the day was awesome so why not give this a chance?
