First Look: CYCLOPS #1

only thing i think worth reading from marvel has been SpOck, uncanny, thor and definitely magneto. I doubt i will even pick this up i prefer uncanny cyclops by quite a bit

Greg ricks is good enough to make this a buy. At least for a few issues. Gotham Central made Batman a boss again in the early 2000s.

Nice. I am impressed by the results of the young x-men in the present adventures! The writers are changing up very familiar characters and dynamics, playing with fate. Will Scott and Jean end up together? Will the original 5 stay together? Warren already split off for a bit and now Scott will be strafing the cosmos with pops! Also cool the way to see how family ties work, like when Cyclops and Havok bond in their battle against HYDRA or when Marvel Girl and Rachel Grey kept avoiding each other when their thoughts were near enough to overlap.

Passing it.

I am so ready for this! :D Scott will always be my favourite Marvel character ever (possibly my favourite overall fictional character) and young Scott is such a cutie. I'm so excited.

I think he's just practicing using it in zero-g rather than using it to move

At first when Marvel announced this series, I was feeling meh about it, but after reading The Trial of Jean Grey, I was interested on how it was sort of set up. Young Cyclops wants to do something new and different away from all the controversy that is on Earth. I'm gonna give it a try.

I could never really get into Cyclops as a character. Something about him has always irked me. I might take a look at this but cosmic stuff is so hit and miss for me as far as my interest goes.

They should have done this right after AvsX

Please Marvel.... no one wants these characters to stay for good.... this book should be about the REAL Cyclops.

You would get that from reading only the AvsX main where they tried to make him out to be the villain but he was brilliantly written in the Uncanny at the same time

Here is my issue. I love Rucka the art is great but I have always despised cyclops. To me he was always a character I felt like I knew the endgame much like superman and captain america they will always do the "right" thing. AvX changed that for cyclops but it felt forced. I might have to try it but since they are doing a young scott summers is this going be the good cyclops or the evil cyclops?

I wasn't going to get this, but after the way the trial of jean grey ended, im going to try it

I've started getting more into Marvel's cosmic side, and really enjoying it, and that has me interested in this - I want to read more about the Starjammers because I'm not too familiar with them. That said, I don't really care about young Cyclops - I really prefer revolutionary Cyclops - frankly, I'm waiting for the O5 X-Men to go back to their own time period. I'll probably check out at least the first issue of this, but not sure I'll stick with it.

Very X-Cited (Yes, I did.) for this series! I'm a very big fan of "Buddy Comics" (Cable and Deadpool forever) and what's better than a space-pirate father and his superhero son going on adventures in space?

The thing is, there is absolutely no pushback/recoil on Cyclops from his optic blasts. His eyes are portals to another dimension. He opens his eyes and the red stuff just pours out.

This is also why he doesn't break his own neck when he fires his optic blast (since the blasts extremely powerful). It's like opening a window. All it takes from him is concentration.

Imagine an astronaut opening the sun visor on his helmet and that somehow pushing him along in space. That's what is seemingly happening here.

I thought this whole time that it was Cyclops the elder. Guess I wasn't paying too much attention. Looks alright but I won't be able to pull because I'm loaded as it is.

Young Cyclops? Meh. Why not use the million times more interesting older version?!? I love revolution Cyclops! He is in my top 5 fave Marvel characters.

I honestly thought this day would never come, also why now? Out of all the times since he was created, they give it to him now that he's popularity got cut, like a lot.

Why? His optic blast is a beam of force correct? There's no friction in space so it'll obviously make him move. Its the same way all man-made spaceships accelerate...

Hmmm.... I'm a huge Cyclops fan but I'm on the fence as to whether or not I want to pick this up. Might just get the first issue and see if I want to keep track of the series from there.
