i'm still worried how Tim Drake's origin will be told, especially because Lobdell is writing it.

Although I'm not big on Nightwing, I really really like Dick Greyson's origin story. I also like Superman, Green Lantern, Cyborg, The Hulk, Captain America, Wonder Woman, and of course Captain Marvel's Origin.

I see a lot of people complaining about that we've seen these origins before but look at this way, Batman is defined his origins than a lot of his fellow superheroes. When you read a Batman book, show, movie or video game it always shows up (flashbacks, brief mentions etc); his origins is what makes him and what makes him tick. Superman on the other hand, his origin story is more destiny than his personal suffering. We have to see how this god came to our planet to make us understand him better or celebrate him (just like Jesus and all of the ancient Greek and Roman myths.)

I'd love to see an origin for Beast Boy that retconned that horrible half-assed origin he was given in Ravagers.

@thewalkingdeadpool18 Sure a male can sleep with everyone but when it comes to a female, shes a slut.

Guys relax, DC is just doing two-three characters each time. So they are putting a familiar on the cover, so people buy it then lesser know people as the other stories- like Starfire in issue 2. That way Superman/ Batman and Casual Fans can grab it and have a good time with it. At the same time these casual fans and "I only read Batman and Marvel" fans can become exposed to these other characters and gain interest.

At the same time shouldn't the origins have been in their #1s three years ago during the massive Reboot three years ago? If not then surely their #0s, two years ago during Zero Month, should have covered thier origins, right? I believe we should have seen all the major villains covered during Villain's Month this past year. Well apparently not.

@sgcomicguy: exactly, you hit the nail right on the head there, if this book only did B and C listers it wouldn't sell enough copies to support itself. Everyone has their favorite characters and they aren't always the same as other people. For example I like Kid Eternity and would definitely buy a book about him, but that's probably not the case for a lot of other people. I'm interested to see how long this book lasts (I hope it goes for a while) as they will run out of A listers to prop it up pretty quickly.

It looks good, but I don't think I need to read yet another Superman origin story.

Ugh. Re-told the origin story again and again. I'll admit that it is starting to get annoy.

I like the look of this and $4.99 for 48 pages is an okay price. The preview pages look good but Would like to see a bit of Nightwing and Supergirls stories but guess I'll see them when I buy it.

So...yeah.

I love origin stories. There's definitely something to be said for retelling a story with updated writing and visuals. Although we know the story, the reading experience can be completely fresh. Definitely liking what I see here. Also sometimes retcons are good and actually reset things to an even more traditional state. This preview is an example of that. I would say most young fans are accustomed to the idea of Clark developing his powers in his teen years. This was actually a modern age retcon of golden age Superman created and subsequently reinforced after Superboy and Superbaby were erased from cannon and it was agreed that Clark first put on his cape as an adult. I think it's wicked cool that they are going back to the golden age origin, especially the homage to the iconic image of baby Clark lifting a chair from page one of his first appearance in Action Comics #1. Hopefully this unretconning will lead to a relaunch of Superbaby. DC should definitely consider all-ages books that are canonical unlike the cartoon tie-ins and "adventures" lines.

I, for one, am hyped for this series. Yeah, we've all heard these stories. But the covers are dope and they're totally worth collecting.

An origin of Superman? Never heard of that before... Am I the only one who is expecting a screwed-up background for Tim? I mean what kind of history could he have in the 6-7 years Batman has been active? Now if this was the original timeline where every robin gets his due, instead of each one leaving/dying after a year, it would be nice.

I love the Robin Custom cover. Is it just me or is Superman being written as a dickish brute and not the boy scout any more.

Slut is derogatory term for a woman who is promiscuous, which essentially means if call someone a slut, you're saying "it's wrong that they want sex." And that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.
