Doesn't this kind of undermine the importance of Ma and Pa Kent to his origin? If he was already caring and empathetic doesn't that mean they didn't instill those ideals into him like past incarnations?

If they were going to have a book like this, why the devil don't they feature the origins of characters that doesn't have one yet?

That was fun to read even if I did know the story on how he became Superman. And I totally want that Robin cover. I kinda want to pick this comic up. I wish for the main cover though the artists would've thought of someway to include Superman, Supergirl, and Robin. Kinda like the original Secret Origins series used to try to include all the characters spotlighted in the book.

Lee Bremejo is effin' amazing. That cover is the best new52 Superman has looked.

This looks alright. If nothing else, it might fill in some continuity gaps for the lesser heroes of the New 52 DCU.

Um, okay. I don't wanna see the 3rd or 4th New 52 origin of the greatest superheroes. I wanna start seeing the awesome origin's of the mediocre or B-List superheroes and villains. Mhm. Hey, gimme some WildStorm, that universe was merged into DC's right? Cause right now I can't tell the difference between New 52 and Pre-52, just seems like the same Batman / Superman / Justice League stuff.

So DC still doing what i've been saying for a long time now. Same old Bat-Family and Sups-family focuse the other main 4 Justice Leaugers and then screw every other character right? Because Superman/Sups family and Batman/Batfamily haven't had enough focus in the New 52 right? The New 52 is basically just those characters. If i heard it's good i'll pick up the trade but this just isn't wortth a 4.99 when it's the same bull we've been getting from DC since the reboot.

What's with DC and character origins? Don't they think we'd had enough of it by now? I think it's pretty clear that Superman is a survivor of a destroyed planet and was raised on Earth while Batman had his parents gunned down. Scrap the origins and move on.

You don't see Marvel making a bunch of stories about Spider-Man or Hulk getting their powers.

5 bucks for a comic book origin story that most of the population knows about? Nope, not buying it. We all ready know Sup's origin story, I don't see as to why they keep redoing it no matter how flashy and new things they put into it. If it's for a character that we barely know about or a new character, then yes sure.

I'll pick up the third issue. Jeff Lemire's writing Green Arrow's origin in it, and I'm curious to see what he does with it.

But, other than that, I have the same general complaint as everybody else: Give some new or lesser-known characters the spotlight, even if for just a minute.

I can understand using Robin and Superman. They've been heroes for over 5+ years and we really don't know what is still in continuity and what isn't anymore with them as they decided to start their New 52 universe 5 years in and skipped a bunch, but Supergirl's entire New 52 book has been one big origin story. it started with her crashing on Earth. You can't start any earlier than that.

Why else would he pick this combination of colors?

I think they could start Supergirl's origin on Krypton. It would be nice to go with Dick from where he was born, most everyone knows the story of his parents death, I'd like to see further back than that, and Superman well we could just see him grow up into Superman.

This is actually a great idea, using big names to promote other characters. I'll be picking up the 2nd issue, might pick up this one too.
