It seems everyone I talked to say that episode is arguably the lowest point in the series.

I hate Family Guy, and I'm interested to see what they have for Adventure Time (even though it's one of my favorite shows), so this sounds pretty good IMO.

Some people are missing the point of satire.

Also Family Guy hasn't been funny since they brought it back from cancellation.

Family Guy may be hit-or-miss, and sprung from the same concept as the Simpsons, but it's still a heck of a lot funnier than the Simpsons has been in 20 years.

The worst thing about this is they actually made this joke already in June 2011...

I love most cartoons (including Family Guy and Adventure Time), so I doubt this issue would do anything but offend me.

Mad has gotten pretty bad over the years. Cracked.com is much better :D

all you guys complaining about Mad do know it's kind of their thing to make fun of anything that's popular. I'm sure they like a lot of these cartoons, but they're trying to be funny. It's nothing against those cartoons. It's like their movie parodies. they don't have anything against the movies, they just poke harmless fun at it. They make fun of themselves all the time, and I guarantee that #1 will be their own show.

@Dud317: well, if you're in your thirties, you should have read Mad back in the 80's, early 90's, for it to have had any real impact. For me, as wacky as it was, it was like an oasis of sanity that saw through the bullshit of popular culture and the adult world. There's no doubt in my mind that it made at least four generations of kids realize how clever they really were.

Yeah, that was more of an attempt at a dying print joke rather than sheer ignorance. I'm in my 30s and remember what life was like pre-internet. I never got the fascination with MAD.

I honestly think that anyone who would rank Family Guy above Mad Magazine, especially on a comic book site, must be some kind of pitiable, ignorant philistine.

I'm not saying I don't think Family Guy is pretty funny sometimes, but there's no denying that it is amongst the basest style of humour; Mad Magazine, on the other hand, while being written primarily for the benefit of children, actually offers genuine and provocative cultural criticism. To compare them at all is kinda just asinine. So, oops, I guess..

And I love Adventure Time, I think it's one of the best cartoons on, but nothing is above genuine criticism, and I bet I'll get a chuckle hearing what Mad has to say about it. Five bucks says it includes a psychedelic drug reference. Ha! you guys!

the fact so many people are arguing about regular show is because its so popular. old people cant get over their crappy smurf and flinstone cartoons. im 18 but i dont say adventure time and regular show suck because i grew up on ed ed and eddy, spongebob, and farily odd parents. but haters need no justification i guess

Used to love Family Guy, then it went to hell. No, you know what American Dad went to hell, The Cleveland show went to hell (though it didn't have nearly as far to fall) Family Guy had to create a plane of existence worse than hell, go there, and defecate all over it before they ended up where they are now.

Don't understand the support for Adventure Time, i freaking hate it, I'd rather have acid poured on my eyes and set on fire before I watched it or Regular show. Used to love Family Guy but it's gotten pathetic now just like CN for that matter

how can you hate Adventure Time? im 24 and watch it with my 3 yr old nephew, we both find it hilarious. some of the toungue-in-cheak jokes are classic

Are there even more than 50 cartoon shows right now? They probably have to really reach with some of them. They probably have other good shows on this list like Regular Show and Archer.

@ptigrusmagus: Dude, if you don't like dry humor that deliberately has no punchline, don't read it, but don't go on saying those that do might as well be handling used toilet paper. It never ceases to amaze me how blood-curdling some people can get with unapologetic, nothing-is-sacred-style satire.

@Spideycap: Dude, handle some criticism. I look to Adventure Time the same way as the first three seasons of Spongebob: When it's good it's excellent, but sometimes they can seriously slip up on the characterization and plotting.

Adventure Time is one of the best things to happen to cartoons and TV in general in awhile, wrong again MAD.

Ugh, MAD. I can't friggin' stand that magazine. I know 8-year-olds who can come up with more clever material than them.

Adventure Time is a super fun, crazy imaginative world full of stuff influenced by DnD,Magic,hard core fantasy and even sci-fi. I look forward to every single new episode and am never disappointed.

I'd love to see them try to target South Park. Love that show so damn hard.

It is MAD people. Of course they are going to try to get you "mad" with this article. I used to like Family Guy, but now they do that stupid thing of wasting the first 5 minutes, after the credits, with some pointless scene. I may buy this issue of MAD, it looks like it will be funny.

That's what MAD does: they find the worst things about everything, exploit them, and turn them into hi-friggin'-lariuos jokes.

Yeah, cartoons aren't what they used to be, but they've started to get better again.

this isn't even the worst things about Family Guy, maybe the worst content-wise, but the worst is the laziness of the jokes, and the overall lack of respect that they have in their own audience.

I prefer South Park to Family Guy anyway. Parker and Stone might not be better voice actors than Mcfarlene and Green but they're much better writers and their comedy, the extreme lengths they go to in each episode as well as the underlying points the show makes it a great show. They even wrote a musical "The Book of Mormon" which from reading the synopsis is better than Ted in every way IMO.

I can see how people don't like Family Guy. I'm sorta neutral on that show. Adventure Time... I just don't get it. I don't hate it, I don't love it, I just don't get it.

Also I think South Park answered all the plagiarism stuff about Simpsons. Its hard not to steal something from them because at this point simpsons has done everything.
