This September, prepare yourself for the biggest Spider-Man story ever with EDGE OF SPIDER-VERSE, a blockbuster new limited series from some of the hottest rising stars in the industry as they bring their own spin to Spidey with 5 interconnected issues each featuring a radically different spider-powered heroes as they prepare for the terrifying assault of Morlun later this year!

“Before you see EVERY Spider-Man ever in Spider-Verse, get up close and personal with five of them!” Says Senior Editor Nick Lowe. “Get ready for Spider stories from the most disparate and talented group of creators ever assembled!”

First up, David Hine, Fabrice Sapolsky and Richard Isanove take readers to the dingy, grime covered streets of New York in the 1930’s as Spider-Man: Noir makes his thunderous return! But all is not as it seems in the Noir universe – and not just because Spider-Man finds himself up against Mysterio!

Then, Jason Latour & Robbi Rodriguez explore a universe where the radioactive spider bit another of Peter’s classmates instead. Meet Gwen Stacy: Spider-Woman! She’s smart, charming and can lift a car – just be sure not to tell her Police Chief father! Big seeds of Spider-Verse are planted here as this exciting new character makes her bombastic debut!

In Edge of Spider-Verse #3, critically-acclaimed artist Dustin Weaver makes his Marvel writing debut as he pulls double duty on an all-new story featuring the wildly imaginative world of Dr. Aaron Aikman – Spider-Man! As he traverses his version of New York City in search of the mysterious kidnapper, nothing can prepare him for the unexpected arrival of Morlun himself!

Then, Pulitzer prize nominated horror writer Clay McLeod Chapman and fan-favorite artist Garry Brown take you to a universe where a radioactive spider bites a high school science nerd who is already something of a monster. Experience the story you’ve always known about Spider-Man with a horrific new twist as the epic Spider-Verse waits in the wings.

Finally, Eisner-award winning Umbrella Academy writer Gerard Way makes his Marvel Comics debut alongside critically-acclaimed artist Jake Wyatt for an issue that will have everyone asking – who or what is SP//dr? Venture into a fantastic new universe and meet the incredible spider character who inhabits it!

As the coming events prepare to shake up the wallcrawlers of each and every universe, no fan can afford to miss an introduction to some of the key players in Novembers highly-anticipated Spider-Verse event! Morlun is ready for war. And it’ll take every Spider-Man ever to stop him. This September, hang on tight as you enter the EDGE OF SPIDER-VERSE!

@jonny_anonymous: Nah, I'm fine with Gwen. I like the character very much too. It's the Bilion Spider-People thing that gets me mad. How many copies of Peter can there be?!

I still hope Noir gets his ongoing series. Please!!

Yea but at least it's an alternate reality

@jonny_anonymous: Totally! I don't give a damn about Stacy Spider. The only one who didn't yet have to be a Spider is Aunt May!! For god sake they have to stop this!!

Yet again returning to Noir. Is there only gonna be one issue for a character?

That would seem to be the case but I hope if it's popular enough he'll get a mini or an ongoing like what happened with 2099. Although I think Gwen SpiderWoman/Girl is really cool.

Don't like Spider-Man, but that Gwen Spidey might just change my mind.

Gwen's costume is so beautiful and I love the idea behind the story. It's makes it so fresh but also keeps it familiar. It also gives an interesting perspective into what it means spider-man (or spider-woman as it would seem) or just a hero in general. And also I'm amazed at the overwhelming love for it, usually when something like this happens people get really angry. I think with this kind of reaction Marvel would be crazy not to either incorporate this Gwen into continuity or have this be its own universe and have her own series.

AGREED!

Just in terms of being a comic costume, it is awesomely breathtaking.

Also, I'm very glad Gwen is actually wearing clothes. Some characters need the sexy look, but Gwen isn't a very sexual character like say, Mystique. Props to the artwork!

I hope Noir has a reaction to the Spider-Verse that reads more or less like "This looks like a pulp magazine plot"

Gwen as Spidey is a great idea. I'm surprised no one thought of it sooner.

@darthfury78: it's not the AoA version, it's a new universe altogether.

Gwen looks cool with the Spider-Spoiler hood, but why the mask on under as well? & is she using a pinkish color? But I dont like how the rest of it is just black. The webbing pattern should be on more of the costume. It almost looks like she could be an electric themed character from the back. & I'd rather her be in high-heels than wear chucks, those blue shoes look stupid.

Spider-Verse 2, is that an armored suit? Why bother , I'd rather Spider2099 come back.

The best parts of That Spidey Shattered Dimentions game was playing as Spider-Noir. I gave up when trying to beat Sandman because the game was so repeative, but Noir-Hammerhead was fun. Though I did like the Spidey2099 stage as well.

She is probably wearing glasses under the hood lol.
I hope that's not a complete mask. Still awesome though, for me at least.

Can I also say, MCR's Gerard Way writing a Spider-Man story makes me happy in odd places.

They better bring Mayday Parker back too. Gwen and her would make one hell of a tag-team.

Spider-Gwen is a good idea I love the costume and I can see Marvel getting her stuck on Earth 616 therefore allowing them to have Gwen back but not bring Gwen back from the dead

If Marvel wasn't willing to bring the AoA Gwen Stacy to Earth-616, then it's not likely that they will bring this version of Gwen to Earth-616 either. Since she's a super heroine in her world, if she was to make a crossover, Slott would not allow her to be in a relationship with Peter Parker because he has this dumb policy that Spider-Man should not be dating a super heroine. Otherwise, we might see Peter dating Jennifer Walters, Jessica Drew, Carol Danvers, or even Natasha Romanov who might have interesting to see an alternate universe version of her counterpart as Spider-Woman.

I don't know why, but I'm having trouble getting particularly excited about this event. I think it just feels too soon to the return of Peter/Amazing. I feel like what could have been a great year of Superior fallout stories are going to be rushed and pushed aside for this. Maybe, and hopefully, I'll be more excited when it gets closer.

The Spider-Verse was initially intended to be a Superior Spider-Man event. But the Editors at Marvel forced Slott to change those plans for Peter Parker instead so that they could take advantage of the movie, which didn't do much to boost the comic. I felt that bringing back Peter was way too soon as Superior Spider-Man could have lasted well into 2015 because it could have been around this time when everyone knows that Spider-Man was Dr. Ock. Instead, we get an ending to Spock that was a let down.

This is exactly what i was thinking. She was so successful in the films that it be silly not to have her back. Also comic wise Peter being with Anna Marie isn't gonna a long term thing i don't think.

But she can't keep the spider-woman name, that's Jess'.

I don't mind them having powers but we got Kaine and Ben. I liked Alpha. Spidey could lead a nice little team and be apart of the Avengers. isn't he the center of the Marvel universe?

Well i'm in especially after seeing Spider-Gwen's costume, which is in my opinion is much better than Miles Morales and Jessica Drew's costumes combined and i like Miles Morales!!! I believe this is a brilliant way to introduce new spider-man like characters.
