Could Chuck be the Next Superman?

And who's directing this reboot, afterall?

 Is that you, Clark Kent?
 Is that you, Clark Kent?

From computer whiz to Man of Steel? The SUPERMAN reboot’s been advancing fairly quietly so far - - almost as if Supes were flying underwater, beneath the surface. But I think you can expect there to be a lot more attention on this project quite soon, because the casting rumors have already started flying. And whose name is the first to enter the fray? CHUCK star Zachary Levi. According to Geek Tyrant, he’s one actor currently auditioning for the project. I’m not a CHUCK devotee, but I suppose he’s already got that mild-mannered-goof-and-dangerous-action-hero-double-identity schtick going. I’m sure we’ve got plenty of regular viewers in this community. Maybe some of you even participated in that SAVE CHUCK campaign. Do you think Levi’s worthy of the cape and tights? == TEASER ==

Also, about the rumor we ran last week about Christopher Columbus getting an offer to direct this new SUPERMAN movie… it’s been debunked in a number of places. As I wondered about, Jonathan Nolan is, indeed, still attached to this project as a direct. Geek Tyrant raises the question everybody’s been asking about whether the WB’s going to trust a first-time director to handle a mega-budget project, even if he’s been a highly-successful screenwriter. They’re saying that a lot of this trust has to do with the fact that Jonathan’s brother, Chris, is going to be very hands on as a producer. I get the feeling that if INCEPTION does as well as everybody's hoping, than the Nolan boys are going to get do whatever they want from here on out.

I suppose the remaining question if if you Comic Vine maniacs think Jonathan Nolan's a good choice to direct SUPERMAN. If not him, what other director could it be? And do you figure he'd have good simpatico with Levi - - would they go together better than * AHEM * a short skirt and a looooooooong jacket?
