I see no point of the Catwoman of the Spidermanverse being made honestly.

Exactly, people love female lead movies when the character is a spy or assassin

So is Spider-Woman in the same predicament that Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch are in in that they are both owned by opposing studios?

FOX and Marvel Studios both own Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch because although they are X-Men characters, they are just as equally Avengers characters as well.

with that logic, I'd venture to say that:

Sony and Marvel Studios both own Spider-Woman because although she is a Spider-character, she is equally (if not more so) an Avenger.

It's going to be Black Cat, assuming this isn't another Sony pipe-dream after the cinematic abortion that was TASM2.

Use the 1610 clone idea but instead of "Jessica Drew" you would use the scarlet spider story idea with some tweaks.

Probably Black Cat. I'd love to have a movie about her if it won't be like.. *whispers* Catwoman.

She was in the movie, so its the most obvious choice.

does Sony even own Jessica? She's more of an avenger character than Spider-Man.

I'd love Black Cat but, the way they have her in the movies.. they already ruined the character for the most part. I don't think they did enough of a set-up to launch her in her own movie. Still... *crosses fingers* I am hoping. This means I'm betting on Jessica Drew. Hey back story is enough to draw people in without needing all the back history. Honestly, if done right, so is Black Cat... father is a thief..in prison... goes into crime to break him out as he's dying...

Who owns these characters exactly? Just because they mostly live int he Spider-Man universe doesn't mean Sony owns them, does it?

All these choices are terrible. May as well do an Aunt May and Uncle Ben movie while you're at it.

I want Black Cat as a supporting character not the lead. Maybe she is going to be the real "Black Cat" in The Amazing Spiderman 3

I don't know if any of these would be able to support themselves on their own but the one with the highest chance to work is Black Cat.

Finish trilogy of Spider-man with his and morlun death - then continue story with his daughter Mayday Parker - Spider-Girl :)

It would make sense for Black Cat to be one of the Sinister6 members, & maybe even spin her off into her own thing, plus since she is basicly a Catwoman rip-off Marvel will get her fanbase. After all, thats the real reason why DC made that awful Catwoman movie.

I dislike movies about villains. You should never feel sorry for the villians. They are evil, & they should die at the end of it, male or female. Trying to sympathize with them is such an anime thing, & is one of the reasons why I am starting to dislike that entire genre.

Also, in terms of a female hero movie, I would only allow the main Marvel avengers-verse films to attempt that. So far, they have all been failures. & sony, & Fox have not made any films as good as the avengers, or avengers related. Sony does this, & they'll fail, & a BlackWidow or MissMarvel film will get canceled as well.

Also, Sony needs to stop trying to strech out the Spider-verse. If they want to copy Marvel & have an interconnected universe, then purchase some more characters.

& Spiderwoman or Girl would be the worst idea. Like using Powergirl as a film, the mainstream audiance would just think the films were using the characters without using the real versions.

Personally I feel making Felicia a member of the sinister six would be a very bad move. Her fan are already peeved at her terrible portrayal going on in the comics. Unless they make her sympathetic or a reluctant member of the six it wouldn't work.

Felicia Hardy seems like the most logical choice. She's had a big role in Spider-Man's life in the comics and has appeared on animated shows such as Spider-Man: The Animated Series and Spectacular Spider-Man. She's also possibly already appeared on the big screen.

In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, we saw Harry's receptionist was named Felicia, played by Felicia Jones. This could be just a coincidence or perhaps it was Sony's way of planting a seed. Black Cat has a mixed history of being a burglar/villain as well as a hero, of sorts. The question is, would she have enough recognition and appeal to carry a solo film?

Spider-Woman

She even has "Spider" in her name. What better way to try to cash in on the SPIDER-MAN name and franchise? Jessica Drew has been around since 1977. She has a pretty complex backstory that would give plenty for screenwriters to work with. We even did a 3-Minute Video (seen above) on her history.

The big question is where exactly does Spider-Woman fit? Is she part of the Spider-Man franchise? Her origins aren't directly related to Peter Parker's world and she's been more active in the pages of Avengers comics.

If she's not available to Sony, what about the Ultimate Comics version? It could be possible that a female clone of Peter Parker could carry her own movie. That would definitely change things up a little.

Silver Sable

Silver Sable was mentioned in the original report. She's another character with a bit of a story to her. While she first debuted in 1985, her mercenary background could give Sony a different type of movie to shoot for. If we're making comparisons, many have marveled over Black Widow's big screen portrayal and this could be Sony's way to try to capture that excitement before Marvel Studios gets around to making a solo Black Widow film.

She might be dead currently in the comics but that's never prevented a character from moving on to bigger things.

Stunner and Firestar?

These seem like odd choices. Does anyone care about Stunner? She's definitely not a household name. She had a tie to Doctor Octopus so he'd have to be established first (in Sinister Six). Would Sony want to make a movie focusing on villains and follow it with another movie on a lesser known villain? Probably not.

Firestar got her start in the Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends animated series. But she's also a mutant. The question is, where do her rights lie? Is she another ambiguous character that Fox would have to share with another studio?

What about Spider-Gwen?

We'll see this version of Gwen Stacy in September's EDGE OF SPIDER-VERSE #1. People are already Cosplaying as her. It's Gwen Stacy from another universe but it could be a way to get more Emma Stone on screen. Sony could use this as a way to feature Gwen in a third movie. Does this movie have to be tied directly into their Spider-Man movie universe? Maybe they'd be willing to do a movie in an alternate universe. But that could be confusing for some. They could also go the Ultimate Comics route with Carnage's involvement.

Silk

She recently made her debut in the new (current) volume of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN. It turns out before the spider that bit Peter died, it also bit another. She's been in hiding all these years to avoid really bad things (you should be reading the current series to find out why). Even though she was bitten by the same spider, her abilities are a little different than Peter's. This, again, gives some slight variation so it's not simply a female version of the movies we've just seen.

Someone Else?

There are plenty of other female characters in Spider-Man's world. We've had the future daughter of Spider-Man and Mary Jane with May "Spider-Girl" Parker. But we'd need Mary Jane introduced first. There's also Anya Corazón. Her story is different enough from Spider-Man's so it doesn't feel like a simple retread over what we've just seen. Or maybe we'd see a movie dealing with all of Spider-Man's past girlfriends and them realizing they don't need him for anything.

What are your thoughts? Which female character do you think could carry a big budget live-action movie?

well of all those I would say Fire Star because well. She is Fire Star lol. I was going to go with Black Cat but she leaves him pretty fast and Yawn boring.

Fire Star is at least a good friend always and she can bring Iceman and hey the team kicks ass to hell with joining the Avengers. I mean would would not like to see this group kicking ass old school style.

We have yet to wait for Edge of Spider-verse, but if it can give Emma Stone more time as Gwen Stacy, it has my vote U____U

I don't think any of these characters are that interesting to be as good or as famous as the other superhero movies. But chances are Sony isn't aiming that high for the spin off films so it could work

Black Cat is the most obvious choice, but the movie would probably suck though since they would have to do a Cat Womanish like movie, and we all know that Cat Woman movie sucked, but it could work if they go a different route. Silver Sable looks interesting, but people would think she's a rip off of Black Widow. Silk looks awesome, but I haven't heard of her until now. Spider Woman seems like a silly character to make a movie out of to be honest. So yeah, it's either between Silk, Black Cat or Silver Sable.

Well, its obvious thats how they would adapt Black cat. No one will make an actual evil female character. they have to be either brainwashed or blackmailed. The Avengers did NOT need Hawkeye, had they removed him & made Widow the one that was brainwashed the movie would have been better, but you'd get all the feminists in an uproar.

Baroness in GIJoe was brainwashed. Catwoman is a villainess & was tried to be turned into a female hero movie series. I was really surprised that the Wolverine movie had Lady Hydra be actually evil & get killed off.

Anya has good chances as her Supernatural Origin doesn't need Spider-Man in it.

Course she may be better off as a TV Series.
