This week, we're featuring fights from THOR #8, LADY KILLER #5, and CONVERGENCE: SUPERBOY #2.

It's that time of the week. Time to look at the latest edition of Best Battles in New Comics. Comics often feature big battles with superheroes fighting supervillains. Sometimes we even have superheroes fighting other superheroes. Get ready to cheer and possibly cringe at the brutal punches being thrown.

THOR #8

The new Thor has been busy fighting the Destroyer after Odin's pride was hurt. She may be worthy of and possess the power of Thor but the Destroyer isn't anything to scoff at. This is when Odinson and his mom, Freyja arrive with some back up.

Odinson sort of had an ulterior motive as he brought along those he suspected might actually be the mysterious new Thor. This doesn't mean the new Thor was completely helpless though.

Even with all the reinforcements, everyone manages to keep busy but do find time to make some observations.

Even Odinson's mom, Freyja, dives into the fight. We don't often see her out on the battlefields but she shows she's willing to stand up to her husband who is taking the fact that he can't figure out Thor's secret a little too far.

This isn't the end of the battle. There is more to see. We may not fully get the resolution here we'd like to see but it's a pretty glorious battle You won't want to miss it.

LADY KILLER #5

Josie Schuller looks like your typical 1950s housewife. She actually has a job her husband and kids don't know about. She's a killer-for-hire. She has decided she kind of wanted to get out of the game. Of course her boss won't let that be easy. They really got mad at her when she refused to kill a kid.

When some goons head her way to stop her, she shows them how it's done.

It must be noted that this is NOT the full fight. There's some other things that happen in between the panels. There's a reason this series is called LADY KILLER. You do not want to mess with Josie.

The other thing worth noting, this is just the warm up fight. There's much more that happens in this issue. Do yourself a favor to see how it all ends.

CONVERGENCE: SUPERBOY #2

Don't call him SuperBOY!

Back when Telos made his decree, heroes from different worlds/multiverses were told they had to fight each other in order to save their city/world. What we saw last issue was Superboy (from right after Reign of the Supermen) having Kingdom Come Superman, Flash, Red Robin. It was mainly between the Super-fellas but Flash and Red Robin. The fight begins with the elder Superman trying to put down the younger clone in order to stop the battle so they can talk to figure out a way to save both cities.

Obviously getting hit by a plane and flying into another isn't going to stop Superboy. The problem here is his attitude. He's too focused on the fight and not really thinking about the potential damage and harm to innocents this fight poses.

Without thinking, he blasts the elder Superman with his tactile telekineses.

Similarly, getting smashed by two planes doesn't really do much to Superman. Superboy is just so determined, he won't give up. He does manage to get in some good punches.

The fight goes on and on with more and more damage being done to the city. Still, even a series of super-fast punches from Flash doesn't stop him. It's when a certain female reporter gets hurt things start to take a turn. We'll just leave you with this image.
