Ben Reilly: The Scarlet Spider Gets His Own Series in April

The costume is horrid.

Why does his mouth line show in the mask.

The overall design looks really, really bad. Cause he literally looks like an alien dick.

Just give him his original costume with a few minor teaks.

I hope they change the design before release.

Still have confidence in Peter David.

I am so happy that Ben is back. What I find really hopeful is the fact the book is named "Ben Reilly: The Scarlet Spider" very similar to how they did "Sam Wilson: Captain America" and "Steve Rogers: Captain America" maybe this means we might be seeing a "Kane Parker: The Scarlet Spider" some time soon. *crosses fingers*

I was hoping for a Kaine centric title, although i like Ben, Kaine is my second favorite character of Marvel and deserves to have his own series again

@redhood1047 Hopefully my friend, seeing as how the title starts with "Ben Reilly" maybe this will be like the duo captain America thing...at even tho I'm not a fan of so many duo same name heroes, I'd still rather take that over just Ben.

Might try this, but I need more Kaine. I'm a bit worried what this will mean for Kaine's involvement after Clone Conspiracy.

Will probably need to see more than one image of the costume before I really judge it, probably just to see if the smile is really effecting the look or not.

Also I find it kind of funny how many people just flipped out over the main series bringing back Ben as a villain, ranting about how they were going to destroy his character just for the sensationalism of it, and now we know that we're getting a book starring Ben that will deal with the consequences of the Clone Conspiracy, regardless of what they are.

I get that this is the internet but people really have a tendency to overreact over these stories.

But goodness. That mouth-line is just disturbing. It also makes it look like he has no nose.

And it will fail just like the original Scarlet Spider series. No one want to read about a second rate clone, hope they don't plan on making too much on it. He's a niche character at best, especially with how they have not solve Peter Parker new role. Heck put Peter David on Spiderman and replace Dan Slott.

this has got to be one of the most 90s books to be hitting the shelves. everything down to 90s writer and artist!!

Well.........I don't have that much faith in marvel for them to do such a thing. Don't get me wrong, I would be like ''shut up and take my F$%& money marvel'' if they do something like that, but it would be weird, I mean right now there are a lot of characters and titles charing the same name (2 captains america, 2 hawkeyes, 2 spidermen, 2 titles with the name iron man and thor in it........), it just would be too much for new readers maybe.............but for us it would be the best thing ever. XD

I really like kaine as a character, his background and his evolution until these days make me want him to stay alive(and around) from now on. I don't want him dying and coming back, just one more time doing that and he would officially be the new jean grey of marvel. XD

I'm glad they brought back Ben Reilly, was happy to see him in the Spiderverse series and was hoping that one would survive...even though he went out like a boss.

I gotta say, never been a huge fan of Ben Reilly outside of his cool costumes, present design excluded, but I hope they don't bury all of Kaine's character progression throughout the years just to antagonize Ben.

The roster needs to be reduced to just Peter Parker Spider Man and Jessica Drew Spider Woman. They also need to bring Renew Your Vows into Earth 616 and have the official and true Spider Family.

• Miles needs to take on another identity or go back to Ultimate Universe which has been revealed to survive but still not revealed yet.
• Spider Gwen needs to disappear and the only thing that remains of her should be white hoodies reminiscent of her costume used on pedestrians and extras.
• Cindy Moon at least has her own name and she has a popular following so she's not going anywhere.
• Anya Corazon, don't know a thing about her. What's she doing?
• Kaine Parker was awesome and under the Scarlet Spider mantle he's become relevant.
• Ben Reilly, don't care about him anymore.

I hope the costume is just a very early april fools joke. Wonder what they were thinking about when they were designing his costume. "Oh, we should make a hole in the mask for the mouth, it'll be just like pulling on the heartstrings of Venom fans!" (I know its just the mouth outline on the mask but wouldn't that be something?)

So the whole Jackal thing ruined Ben...and now he will be even worse ? I mean the guy died in every possible fashion and now convinced that he should re-animate everybody, even though they will turn into freaking zombies in the end. Somehow he will escape in the end and be nothing like Ben Reiley the people love. Getting hunted by Kaine of all people.

I honestly have no hope for this, not after what Marvel did to many characters and how it tainted them to the point of me never wanting to read anything with them in it. Besides, we are at the Spider-overload for titles. I mean even Batman didn't have this much.
