Awesome Toy Picks: Marvel Legends Infinite--Red Skull

A cool collectible you'll want to add to your collection.

Each week we take a close look at a cool comic book collectible. That means taking it out of the package. With Captain America: The Winter Soldier almost upon us, this is sort of the first in a series of Cap-related items. That means there'll be another cool Cap item next time. Hasbro has continued with its Marvel Legends Infinite series, focusing on Captain America. In particular, Red Skull.

Red Skull is perhaps Captain America's greatest villains. He also played a big role in the first movie. With this line of figures, it's great to see that Hasbro didn't decide to go with different versions of Cap. They included several of Cap's enemies as you can see on the back of the packaging.

This also part of a Build a figure series. By buying the different figures, you can a big Mandroid. But what is weird is you can't complete the entire figure just yet. You'll have to wait until the rest of the figures in the line come out in Fall 2014. Red Skull is part of a Agents of HYDRA subgroup. That apparently means both Red Skull and the HYDRA agent both come with the Mandroid armor's left arm. That seems redundant but then again, I haven't actually seen a HYDRA agent figure as I'd imagine they get snatched up right away.

Here's what the Mandroid arm looks like.

The Red Skull figure is ready for action. He's also ready for a change in the weather as he's wearing a pretty snazzy overcoat. He also comes with a couple guns.

It's almost as if he's ready to Cosplay or something. You don't normally see orangish guns unless they're toy guns. But why would Red Skull have toy guns?!? The bigger gun he has doesn't look like your typical gun either. With Red Skull, who knows what it would be capable of.

His coat, of course, sports a HYDRA logo on the sleeve.

The nice thing about the detail in the figure is everything isn't a straight simple mold. There's some give to parts, such as the jacket and holsters. It gives the figure a less stiff look with parts being able to move.

Even though he comes with two guns, he can really only hold a gun in his right hand. The smaller gun also fits and has some cool detail.

I know some really like the sculpt of the Infinite figures but this one in particular has weird arm joints. Trying to straighten out his arms is a little weird. But he is pretty cool looking.

Oh, I forgot to mention, the bigger gun does have a holster it fits into at his side.

And of course, he comes with a Tesseract, or Cosmic Cube, if you prefer.

This is what Red Skull really wants. It's what would make him most happy. So let's look at a bunch of shots of him celebrating having possession of it.

What do you think of this figure. It's great seeing actual villains on sale in the toy aisles. I do have another figure in this line that we'll look at at a later date. That's it for now. We'll have another cool collectible featured next time.
