Awesome Toy Picks: LEGO Batman: The Joker Steam Roller

A cool collectible you'll want to add to your collection.

Each week we take a close look at a comic book collectible. That means taking it out of the package. This week, we're journeying back to the world of LEGO. Batman's there, of course. We're going to look at the Batman: The Joker Steam Roller set.

You can see it comes with five figures. Besides Batman, you get Batgirl (Barbara Gordon), Robin, a stylish Joker, and a goon. It retails for $49.99. I picked it up at Target and you can also get it directly from LEGO.com.

This set has 486 pieces. Not too many but more than enough to build some cool accessories.

If you're a fan of Robin, this is your chance to get a LEGO Robin, if you don't already have one. Which Robin is it? You could always just make it whichever you want. He is shorter than the other figures. It's interesting that he's shorter here than the Damian figure in the Arkham Asylum Breakout set.

The steam roller is pretty cool. It's not just a regular steam roller, it's been Joker-ized.

We all know Joker has a thing for trying to off Robins. Why not try something a little different and use a steam roller on him?

Luckily for little Robin here, Batgirl is around to lend a hand...or Batarang. You have to admit, it's super cool finally getting a LEGO Batgirl.

Batgirl is a great shot with a Batarang. And...let's just pretend this particular LEGO Batarang is strong enough to stop a steam roller. Of course it could, right?

The Joker Goon has a crowbar (because Joker loves crowbars almost as much as offing Robins). Can he remove the Batarang so they can continue with their plans?

Joker won't be too pleased with his plans being messed up. Unfortunately for Batgirl and Robin, he also comes with a gun. LEGO Killing Joke?

But this set is for kids so of course it's one of Joker's trick guns.

Where's Batman during all this? He's on his way, flying in a Bat-wing (or Batplane, if you prefer).

We've been seeing a lot of different Bat-vehicles in these different LEGO sets. This one is pretty cool. The wings move forward and there are missiles just in case Batman needs to try to blow stuff up.

The steam roller has its own missiles. For the sake of the kids reading along, we'll skip over any actual LEGO explosions.

You're probably aware but, Batman is really rich billionaire playboy, Bruce Wayne. So when it comes to stopping villains like Joker, sacrificing a Batplane is not a problem.

Batman always has a plan in mind and knows he'll be able to stop Joker.

That's it for this week. Let us know what you thought of this selection. You get a lot in this set. Two vehicles and plenty of cool characters. We'll have another selection next time.
