AVENGER PRIME: SIEGE AFTERMATH #1

Bendis and Davis working together...

Those wondering whether Marvel’s big three would be on good terms following Siege now have a big clue. Marvel’s just released a preview of AVENGER PRIME: SIEGE AFTERMATH #1, the first issue of bi-monthly mini-starting in June that’ll be written by Brian Michael Bendis and drawn by comics legend Alan Davis.

Here’s the synopsis from the House of Ideas…

They were friends, brothers and teammates through all of Marvel's greatest adventures, but recent events turned them into the bitterest of enemies. In the wake of the Siege of Asgard Thor, Iron Man and Steve Rogers are brought together on the same side once more, but it's going to take more than a handshake and a smile to get these great heroes to truly trust each other again. This all-new, grand and dangerous adventure will catapult our heroes into the explosive Heroic Age…

Bendis and Davis - - that’ll be an interesting match-up. That aside, there are a couple important clues I’ve picked out here.

One  - - Iron Man is in his classic armor, not any of the modern, angular variants. I believe that the last time he was in those hard-shelled duds was after his armor went sentient on him and tried to kill him like a spurned lover. Tony subsequently kicked it old school and went off the grid with his old armor.

Two - - Notice that they identify Steve Rogers by his “civilian name” and not as Captain America. You’ll also notice that he’s rocking a hip turtleneck that’s probably left over from his beatnik days. Call me crazy, but I’m going to guess this means that Bucky will still be wearing the stars and stripes come June.

What do you think about this, oh prime Comic Vine community? Are you pumped for this first pairing of talent and reunion of old comrades?
