    It Came From The Deep

Monsters have emerged from the black depths of the ocean, and they have a taste for human flesh. The only person who can stop them is Aquaman. This issue continues with The Trench story line. The comic is action packed, and shows just how cool Aquaman can be. It also does a good job of giving a little bit more information about Arthur's origins. A great aspect of this issue is how it does a good job portraying the relationship between Arthur and Mera. I also very much enjoyed the continued exploration of the dynamic between Aquaman and the people that he protects. It's interesting to see how Arthur continues to protect all of the humans that clearly have no respect for him, whereas Mera believes that humans are below him, and he shouldn't have to tolerate them. Overall, this comic is just plain fun and I would recommend to any fan of the medium.

Johns immediately grabs you from the very first page as he presents the first threat Aquaman will face and just a f...

The overall high standard of the first issue is maintained here.  Of course it might be too early in the series to make a lot of judgments, but a lot of issues with the character that I have had are being dealt with here (his overbearing royal side, his infidelity towards Mera).  While the character is being portrayed in a much less anti-hero form, the action is still dark enough with a group of sea dwellers discovering that humans make a fine meal.  Again the somewhat dim-witted reaction of reg...
