    Jeff Lemire has not been writer Animal Man as your normal super-hero comic. He'd been writing a nice family tale that just happens to involve a super-hero. Now, he is taking his shot at screen plays!  THE GOOD: The art is amazing in this issue. I really like how they add a lot of details in the pages and you get a feeling of the characters you are probably only going to see in this issue. There are two artist but they have a similar style and it made it very clear when we were in the real world ...

    This issue treads a very precarious line. Nearly the entire thing is a comic rendition of the fictional independent film 'Tights' in which Buddy Baker previously starred. Alone its not the greatest thing in the world, it's generally what one would expect from an independent film about a down and out minor superhero, but what makes this issue click is context.     Let me start off by saying that Animal Man is probably my favorite title of the new 52, and if not it is certainly the most consistent when it comes to quality. The idea that I would one day get to see 'Tights' the film evolve on page was one that held considerable promise for me. Darren Aronofsky is my favorite director and seeing as Lemire was clearly referencing that artist's film 'The Wrestler' brought my two great loves: cinema and comics together.Unfortunatelly, while Lemire grasps complet...
