    The Rot Cometh! 0

Buddy Baker and his daughter Maxine are going toe-to-toe with two of the Hunters Three as the third stalks the rest of the Baker family. As the avatars of the red explain to Baker what role he plays in the web of life the stakes are raised and the promise of harder and more horrific battles to come are promised by the ancient beings. Baker will have to accept his new role as his daughter's bodyguard as well as father if he's going to protect the world from the power of the rot.Written by Jeff Le...

    Perfection 0

Jeff Lemire and Travel Foreman have delivered three perfect issues so far. Does issue #4 continue to keep the pace and the amazing story of the past three issues?  THE GOOD: The art is still amazing. In Animal Man you almost get the feeling that the art is also telling a story of its own. It looks a little different to me from past issues, but it's still effective and amazing. The writing continues to be perfection in this story. We really get to see the family side of this book and it's just as...

Art - The line work is slightly better this month and while not the best it is at least on the level of average now. The colors however are trash, relying on the line work to provide most of or all of the shades and highlight. It adds nothing to the book save for helping to be able to see the image better which would be the same for any coloring style. They could get anyone that can stay in the lines to replace the current colorist and you wouldn't notice the difference.Story - Not really any st...

Not Just Perfect, But Beyond 0

The Good: Travel Foreman nails it with another great cover. The split down the middle face is a bit of a cliche, but it works very well in its stark simplicity, and the usually calming blue actually makes things a little creepy since its a stark contrast to the usual red. The panel layouts are fantastic this issue, following Swamp Thing's lead with the addition of Marco Rudy, Travel Foreman steps up his game to 11, producing some absolute outstanding work here. Not that it was bad before, but th...

"You Get Away From My Daddy!" 0

SynopsisDeep within The Red, Animal Man and Maxine discover their purposes in the war to come, as Ellen and Cliff are caught by The Rot!The GoodTravel Foreman continues to knock the surreal creepiness out issue after issue and this is no exception. The origins and subsequent fall of the Hunters Three is covered over a fantastic double page spread and it is work like this that really makes me fall in love with this series. The last page too is particularly grotesque, but what a cliffhanger! (subt...
